Right well I saw this qeustion on the gerweck website and I thought it maybe a good topic to discuss since Konnan has filled the lawsuit against TNA. I personally think that Konnan is wrong I know TNA may not have paid for his surgery and they paid for Scott Steiner’s surgery but the fact is that Scott got injured while working for TNA and Konnan screwed himself up with drugs plus I don’t think TNA discriminate against different minorities I mean look at the push they gave LAX, Jay Lethal, Ron Killing (well in the beginning) and others anyway what do you guys think?

Let's go down the list, shall we?

1. Konnan is a big, fat latino prick. Did it ever occur to him that they refused to pay for his surgery because of his attitude?

2. Scott Steiner got hurt while doing an international tour for TNA, so they were legally required to pay for his surgery. It's called worker's compensation, and it doesn't matter if Scott inflicted the injury himself, the only exceptions to worker's comp are alcohol and drugs.

3. Speaking of the drugs exception, Konnan's ailing hip was a direct result of his drug use, which allows TNA to ignore worker's comp laws.

4. Konnan has been barking up the racism tree for years now, and he's never gotten very far. He's just the Jesse Jackson of Latin wrestlers, nothing more.

5. The X-Division and Women's champions are both black, the number one contenders to the tag team titles are Latin, and the number one contender to the TNA World title is a Samoan. If that's not equal opportunity, I don't know what is.

6. Sure, Vince Russo once said that the wrestling fans had no interest in colored champions, but he's now a born again Christian, and thinks the exact opposite now.

Konnan has nothing on TNA. He had nothing on WCW, and he never will have anything on any wrestling company. He's using his race as a scrapegoat, and nothing more.

I'm pretty sure you are a racist after that incredibly stupid point. How is calling someone a prick saying they don't have a case? Idiot.

I don't think Konnan has a case with racism, but if TNA promised to pay his bills they should have

Good points, except for the prick part...not sure how that proves anything. I still dont know what side to be on tbh. I agree that Konnan needs to stop complaining about racism, as dstebbins said, all the number 1 contenders aren't even white, and I'm sure Russo doesnt think like he used to since he is a born again christian. The problem is, if TNA promised him to pay for the surgery then they should have at least followed up on that promise instead of just brush it off. Or at least tell him before the surgery that they wont pay. Either way, it will be interesting to see what happens and if this will actually turn into something really serious between the two

I dont know, my fiance is latino and my kids so I obviously am sensitive to the matter but to me it looks like Konnan is just stirring shit. Its too bad too cause I loved having him on the TNA roster but whatever they can survive without him, plus Hernandez is an amazing wrestler that makes up for his absence. Overall as long as I get to stare at Salinas im happy.

Agreed 100%. Pehaps if he doesn't like it he can always do his ever predictable roll through close line to Vince Russo.

He doesn't have anything. Especially about the racism part, they gave a black man (Truth) the World Title twice, LAX held the Tag Titles for quite some time, and didn't Konnan hold some gold there too? Konnan is trying to get some money because he is pretty poor I bet. Forget him. I used to like him cause he was good on the mic, but now? That's low.....even for a mexican, that is low.

Konnan failed when he stopped wrestling

When i started Tuning into TNA, Konnan was just a manager.

I don't think his hip is that if i just saw him wrestling in AAA the other day, where he is a booker, and if ricky banderes (judas messias) is making the equivalent to $300,000 there then i would think that konnan wouldnt be that bad financially since he is a big star over there.

Not only that, but I'm quite sure half of that worker's comp stuff is bull. I don't have time to look up the laws now, but some stuff he said don't make sense.

I assure you the workers' comp laws that I stated are 100% true, at least in my state. I took a class on this stuff called Legal Environment of Business. Workers' comp is a no fault system.

Of course, it is a two way street. You can't refuse workers' comp in favor of suing the employer for a personal injury, even if they're 100% at fault. Workers' comp is the only recovery an employee gets, and you only get to sue your employer if the employer refuses to pay the workers' comp, and even then, you only get to sue for your workers' comp amount, and not a penny more.

Btw, while we're on the topic of business law, when TNA promised to pay for Konnan's surgery, that promise means nothing legally. Why? Because in order for a contract to be legally binding, there must be mutual consideration. For example, if your parents just give you one of their cars when you turn 18, they are legally entitled to take it back at any time, because you didn't give them anything in return. You have to give them at least a penny for the car. In this case, Konnan was not giving TNA anything in return (except his gratefulness, but that has no monetary value), so TNA is not bound by that promise.

And if you don't believe me, as any lawyer you want.
