Does anyone know if the Old Eagles WWE Title become the WWE Hardcore Title?

[size=x-large]Does anyone know if the Old Eagles WWE Title become the WWE Hardcore Title? It looks like like it was but I not shore does anyone know if the Hardcore was the Old Eagles WWE Title or it was just a repecled of am Eagles WWE Title that they just rip apart?[/size]​

The WWE Hardcore Championship belt is a replica of the "Winged Eagle" WWF Championship title, which was smashed in several places and reassembled with two pieces of duct tape, with the words "Hardcore" and "Champion" written on it in marker. Rumor says this belt was the same one stolen by Mr. Perfect from Hulk Hogan on a 1989 episode of Saturday Night's Main Event and destroyed with a hammer. However, some allege the destroyed belt was kept by former WWF referee/booker Mel Phillips and a new belt was purposely destroyed to create the Hardcore Championship belt.

I thought it was confirmed by someone in the company (don't remember who) that it was made to look like the old winged eagle WWF Title but it was actually a new belt simply designed to look that way, not the old one simply smashed into pieces.
