No this isn't a PG hate thread, so you AE marks can chill out. I often say it's not the PG guideline that has limited RAW. But I'm wondering if anyone genuinely thinks WWE will drop PG and move back to TV-14, do you see that happening ever?

Personally.. I think they should experiment with a very late night non PG show for WWE... This way the kids dont "get to watch it" LOL.... Where more AE stuff could happen... Then they could actually se if there is a following for it...

After Lindas election failure of course!

Could see it happening, just to appeal to the kids that are growing up right now and follow the fan base maybe. Just remember this isn't the first time WWE has been PG, so I can see them going back to TV-14 eventually.

That wouldn't mater though, as it's still owned by WWE and they'd still get the bad praise for it and such.

In the future I believe they will. Not in the near future, but maybe 10 years from now, who knows what the world will be like then.

Why would they? They get the little kid audiences, probably a wider variety of sponsors, and people that are older and hate the PG stuff still watch. There is absolutely no reason for them to ever get rid of it unless a need to presents itself.

I can't see them getting away from PG unless wrestling got to the point where it could appeal widely to a mainstream adult audience.

If that were to happen, they could sign some kind of deal with HBO or Showtime and really break down the walls. :smug:

The PG era will never end the kiddies bring in all the money

I don't think it's the kids per say, as I personally believe the majority of the audience will stick around. It's more the sponsorship deals which are gained from being child friendly IMO.

If they moved to TV-14 and created their product around that, then I'm guessing quite a lot of the kids would be banned from watching. I don't know actually, it's a good sociological question but it would definitely be centred around adult viewing, instead of what it is now.

You're right though, the stuff that comes with PG like Be A Star, celebrity affiliates, main stream attention and such would all be under threat.

I'm unsure tbh, this is all guess work obviously and I'd love to see the demographics for the AE as an indication of how many kids there were. I guess the most important question would be, could a resurgence in a more adult themed product lead to wrestling being cool again. After all kids are famous for following trends so they may lose say 25 10 year olds and under who spend an average of $10 for 50 early teens who spend $7.50 each. Of course these numbers are plucked out of thin air but I agree it would be a good theory to further evaluate.

Say B A Star does go also, but then they gain a sponsorship to promote Call of Duty, Xbox, PS3, hell even Apple and Android could join in as Raw would be hitting their core audience. Obviously the inclusion of these companies is just an ideology. One door closing could potential open another, if wrestling became the buzz word again.

Which is why I said it could change in the future, they're milking it for now but who knows who will WWE appeal to, let's say, 10 years from now? Or how society as a whole will be then (probably not that different but it's a possibility)? It would basically mean changing their target audience to teens/adults.
