The days of direct X 9 are numbered..There is a new sun on the horizon and it is set to shine on all our computers now that windows Vista is here!

DirectX and " Graphics" are words which are assumed to co-relate with each other, but thats not all..DirectX which was conceptualized by Microsoft as a standard API for all multimedia needs deals with Sound, Input Devices and lots more.

When Microsoft officially introduced DirectX 10,they also announced that it would be exclusive to Windows Vista. This means that in order to play DirectX 10 games, you will need to upgrade to Vista..

here is a list of upcoming DirectX 10 games and their expected release dates:

1) Crysis ( developed by Crytek, makers of Far Cry ) - Q3 of 2007

2) Unreal Tournament 3 ( Epic Games, sequel to UT 2004 ) - Q3 of 2007

3) Lost Planet : Extreme Condition - PC ( Capcom ) - Q2 of 2007

4) Alan Wake - TBA 2008

5) Hellgate London ( Flagship Studios - founders ex-employees of Blizzard- makers of Diablo series ) - Q2 of 2007

6) Bioshock ( sequel to system shock 2 ) - Q3 of 2007

7) Chrome 2 ( Sequel to Chrome released in 2003 ) - TBA 2007

8) World In Conflict ( Massive Entertainment ) - Q3 of 2007

9) Age of Conan : Hybrian Adventures - Massively online multiplayer role playing game - Q4 of 2007..

( Note : Now you can have DirectX 10 for your windows Xp platform as well..browse to the thread " Direct X 10 for windows Xp " in software section in the VIP area..who says people not having vista cant enjoy these games? no side-effects of having directx 10 in your XP..tried and tested )
