The PPV that i list as i call the Elite WWE PPV's of this era....

Survivor Series 1987 - A classic example of the Tradition s.series matches.. Great PPV
Survivor Series 1988 - read 87
Royal Rumble 1990 - A ***1/2 submission match and a **** rumble
Royal Rumble 1991 - Rockers Vs Express, Warrior loses belt, another good rumble
Royal Rumble 1992 - good opener mix with a Excellent Rumble (maybe my favourite one ever)
Wrestlemania X - 2 ***** matches what else should i say
Survivor series 1994 - great backlund match that isn't for anyone, But if you like 70's style wrestling then you will love it,
Royal Rumble 1995 - a Moment of HBk that we will never forget, solid tag team and good wwe c'ship match
Wrestlemania 12- HBK/Hart, Austin first WM and he pulls a ***....
In Your House VIII - there is only one match that is shit, one ** and the rest you will enjoy
Survivor series 1996 - Austin/Hart 1, Sid/HBK, a good opener, another Taker/mankind match But this time with less gimmick shit involve...
In Your House XIII - Final Four - a great battle royal, Furnas/lafon show potential in a match against owen/bulldog, the rest isn't too bad
In Your House XVI - Canadian Stampede - This PPV is my Favourite non WM PPV ever producted by the WWE....
One Night Only 1997 - one of UK best PPV
Backlash 1999/Summerslam 1999 - (during 1998/1999 the wrestling was meh, but the austin/mcmahon was bringing in the $$$$) so those 2 ppvs would be the best one of it's time, other than that chekc out the matches i listed from them years

PPV's that you should ignore
The Wrestling Classic 1985 - good idea on paper, but not on tv...
Wrestlefest 1988 - whats more worse than andre/hogan again, but this time in a Cage... if hart/brown didnt have a *** then this ppv could of sucked more...
Summerslam 1988 - Great Opener, but after that the rest can barely get * most of the time except for 2 matches...
Wrestlemania 6 - I know hogan/warrior.. But just erase that from the show and tell me what you think of the show...
Summerslam 1990 - terrible summer for WWE here, warrior/rude worst encounter.
hogan/quake oh you get boss man as guest ref in one match too...
Wrestlemania 9 - worst than WM 6
UK rampage 1993 - horrible show, no live crowd should have luger vs duggan as M/event
IYH 1 - opener solid but rest is sour..
KOTR 1995 - Horrible show, this show is like WM 9 working with summerslam 1990...
IYH 4 - Best match was a **1/2
Summerslam 1996 - taker/mankind doing ECW style wrestling too gimmicked for my liking, rest is meh.. Main event is ***1/2 tho
KOTR 1997 - HBK/austin is ****, but the rest of the show sucks.. Ron simmons gets wwe title shot tho
IYH DX 97 - best match was **1/2
mayhem in machester - horrible uk show
IYH fully loaded 98 - a 2/3 falls ends in draw and lot of other shit happens... more like a raw rather than a PPV...
Survivor Series 1998 - It was like Wrestling classic 1985 had a Child and Survivor Series 1998 came out...
Capital Carnage 1998 - better than there earlier uk 98 show, but still not good..like usual UK PPV shows
IYH Rock Bottom 1998 - best match was **1/2 and that was Blackman Vs owen hart
Wrestlemania 15 - main event was ***1/2, but the rest of the PPV's was like a TNA PPV...
No Mercy UK 99 - horrible show, i am surprised they booked some matches on ppv for that one
KOTR 99 - horrible KOTR with a 2 on 1 ladder match as main event. PPV does headline 1st ever edge/christian vs hardys for like 3-4 mins
Rebellion UK 99 - crap
survivor series 1999 - chyna/y2j was best match IMO but that was ***...
Armageddon 1999 - Boss man get's his wwe title shot, As most armageddon's this one sucked...

EFF-ME! That's a fat post!!!

Some random thoughts....

I notice you mentioned Hammer Vs Garvin submission match (RR90)....

Was actually thinking about that the other day.... That must have been the first sub-match I'd ever seen. I enjoyed it so much (LOL at the shin guard action though!). Another classic moment from RR90 for me was how badly Perfect & The Genius beat down Beefcake (I loved it/hated B'cake)... Wasn't it here that they proceeded to steal Hogans world title and destroy the belt too? (Beeen a looooong time since I saw this one! LOL)

I'd add Bret vs Bam Bam (KOTR03) to the list.... THAT SHIT IS EPIIIIIC!

Cool to see Brain Busters getting their props... Every match I ever saw them in in WWF was sick! I was younger and much more into faces at the time but you couldn't help respect them (Heenan rarely even cheated on their behalf).

I'm suprised you rate SS88 as high as you do. I only saw it on Silvervision and they fucking ruin it - massively cutting and subsequently ruining all the matches apart from the Twin Towers/Megapowers & Demolition/P.O.P. (even though there is still some bad edits in this one).

I'd love to get my hands on the PPV recordings of the first 2 SSeries' to see how they really panned out.

I'd add Summerslam 95 to the crap PPV list... The best match on offer is the ladder match and even that isn't as good as the one at WM-X.

Re: IYH-DX... I really can't remember it at all, but I do recall being so pumped for HBK vs Shamrock... Can't even remember if its was even merely OK (bad sign, I guess).

Question:

You or anyone else ever see Flair regain the title from Savage shortly after Summrslam 92? ...Was it ever shown on TV or Vid/DVD?

Thanks.. (i will try to do 2000-2008 WWE soonish), But i wanna view all PPV 's of 2008).. Next will Be ROH 2002-2006.....

i was always a fan of Arn anderson and tully blanchard... They could turn nothing into something....

I think Series 1988 is a good PPV, Yes it is clipped in some matches, But that Opener Tag team eliminations should be a study match for any future tag team on how to work... Plus WWE 80's PPv didnt have many overall tag matches due to being a 1 or 2 Match PPv's,, so i want to give a few 1980's WWE PPV's some props...

here is my full review to DX 1997 IYH.

1. Light heavyweight title:
Taka Michinoku def. Brian Christopher 4/10
Pinfall
2. Los Boriquas def. Disciples of Apocalypse 1/10
Pinfall, Miguel over Chainz
3. Four round boxing match:
Butterbean def. Marvellous Marc Mero (dq) 0/10
4. Tagteam championship:
Roaddog Jesse James & Badass Billy Gunn def. Legion of Doom (ch) (dq) 2/10
Legion of Doom were disqualified when LOD hit Gunn and James with the bucket from the Goddwinns (who just had entered to interfere with LOD)
5. Bootcamp match:
Hunter Hearst Helmsley def. Sgt. Slaughter 3/10
Pinfall after HHH put the "pedigree" on Slaughter, on a chair
6. Jeff Jarrett def. Undertaker (dq) 2/10
Undertaker was disqualified when Kane came out and chokeslammed Double J (who had attacked Kane)
7. Intercontinental championship:
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin (ch) def. Rocky Maivia 5/10
Pinfall for Austin after a Stone Cold Stunner
8. WWF championship match:
Ken Shamrock def. Shawn Michaels (ch) (dq) 5/10

The PPV was birth for The Rock i guess, but overall the PPv wasn't good as most December WWE PPV's are...

to Summerslam 1995, they had a decent 123 kid/hakushi, *** Hart/yankem, decent horowitz/skip match along with that awesome HBK/ramon ladder 2, (but the ppv did have some crap).. but i dont think it should make the list...
