So Dennis Siver (19-8 MMA, 8-5 UFC) will fight in Sweden, after all.

After a rumored rematch with Ross Pearson turned out to be much ado about nothing, UFC officials have instead booked Siver to face Brazilian featherweight Diego Nunes (17-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at April's UFC on FUEL TV 2 event.

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) today confirmed the booking, which was first reported by Swedish site mmanytt.se, with sources close to the event.

Featuring a main event between light heavyweights Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Alexander Gustafsson, UFC on FUEL TV 2 takes place April 14 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. The main card airs on FUEL TV (live on Saturday afternoon in the U.S.), and as MMAjunkie.com first reported, some prelims are expected to stream on Facebook.

The placement of the Nunes vs. Siver fight on the evening's lineup has not been revealed.

Siver, a German fighter, had surged into lightweight title contention with four consecutive wins over the likes of Matt Wiman, George Sotiropoulos and Spencer Fisher. However, following a submission loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC 137 in October, he mentioned the possibility of dropping down a weight class. Although just 1-3 in his first UFC stint, Siver is now 7-2 in his latest.

Meanwhile, Nunes looks to build on the strength of a unanimous-decision win over Manny Gamburyan at UFC 141. "The Gun" is 4-1 in his past five bouts – a run that includes WEC wins over Tyler Toner and Raphael Assuncao. The lone loss in that stretch came at UFC 131 to Kenny Florian, who then went on the challenge for the featherweight title in his next fight.

Should be a pretty entertaining stand up fight.
