Syfy has acquired the basic cable rights to Merlin.

The first series of the UK fantasy series, which stars Colin Morgan as a young mythical wizard, previously aired on NBC during primetime.

Merlin will now join Syfy's lineup from April, with all 26 episodes from the first two series slated to air.

"A viewer favourite after only one season, Merlin will be a strong addition to our schedule this spring," said president of programming Thomas Vitale.

"We expect its enthralling imaginative vision, engaging young talent, and rich production values to resonate with our audience."

Last year, the BBC confirmed that it had ordered a third series of the Saturday night drama.

in case u didnt figure it out this is an aurtherian tale whtih quite a twist

arthur is not yet king he is merly camelots young heir while his father sits at the throne who has lost his faith in all things magic after a bad experience invloving a deadky msishap with the young arthurs birth and has such banned it from the kingdom under penalty of death here is where we meet our merlin a bit younger then most are used to who has been told that he is destined to assure arthurs ascencion when the time comes at all costs for their alliacne will bring magic back to the kingdom must he must be cautios for their are others trying to do this...who resort to evil

another thing i read says there doing a seson 1 marathon end of march and premiring season 2 for the us (brits already got it) first week of april

and for those that wish to be naughty and get a peek at season 2 b4 its syfy debut im sure you can find some eps with the right keywords but i for one plan to be a good boy and wait it out so im not looking

i highly reccommend this series it was great fun and im sure season 2 will be just as grand as season 1

and hope to get many to watch and enjoy it so syfy will ask the brits for the 3rd season as well
