It's WrestleCon week. This will be the biggest weekend in EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA history. Attendance records might be set! The first ever EVOLVE Champion will be crowned! All DGUSA titles will be on the line! The six man tradition will continue plus so much more!
The final booking decisions have been made about the card order of this weekend's events. We have some interesting notes on what you can expect:
-EVOLVE 19 will kick things off at 4pm EST. this Friday with the Four Way Freestyle pitting Rich Swann vs. Samuray Del Sol vs. Sami Callihan vs. Jigsaw. This match was selected to open the weekend for one reason- to make an immediate statement. This is to showcase the action, excitement and innovation you can expect all weekend at WrestleCon. This will start things off with a bang.
-EVOLVE 19 is expected to be about a 2 1/2 hour event, give or take a few minutes. This will give fans enough time to get to other live events or watch other live iPPVs on Friday night.
-The Young Bucks vs. Super Smash Brothers will be the semi-main event of EVOLVE 19 and go on before the finals of the tournament.
-There was debate on what title match should go on last on this Saturday night's Dragon Gate USA Open The Ultimate Gate 2013 event. In the end, the decision was made to go with Johnny Gargano vs. Shingo for the DGUSA Title as the main event. This has all the makings of a total classic. The Young Bucks challenging Open The United Gate Champions CIMA & AR Fox will be the semi-main event. We are aware that this spectacular tag team match will be tough to follow.
-In a small surprise, Shingo vs. Akira Tozawa has been selected as the main event on this Sunday's DGUSA Mercury Rising 2013 event. The Japan office made this request due to the fact that Shingo vs. Tozawa is the only pure Dragon Gate match of the weekend. The USA office agreed, also feeling like it could be the very best match of the weekend. The annual six man tradition of CIMA, EITA & CIMA's Secret Weapon vs. Johnny Gargano, Rich Swann & Ricochet will go on as the semi-main event.
-This Sunday's DGUSA event is expected to be around 2 hours and 45 minutes. It starts at 1pm EST. This gives fans plenty of time to tailgate and get ready for Wrestlemania that night.
