At the latest draft Alberto Del Rio moved from Smackdown to Raw....this was clearly done to bring a fresh main eventer to RAW, and give him some fresh fueds. However with the recent activity on Smackdown and RAW it seems to me that it may of been the wrong move for Del Rio.

Well first of all, I mention fresh fueds, yet first night on RAW Del Rio begins to fued with Rey Mysterio, something we have seen before. There is lots of other guys he could've fueded with, including Evan Bourne or even Cena, yet he is stuck in a fued which won't elevate him further which baffles me.

We then have the events on Smackdown, as well as the guys who are currently the top heels on the show which make me think he would've been better on Smackdown. First of all you look at the heel roster currently; Mark Henry, a guy who's not up to carrying a flagship show. Sheamus, a guy who's been buried to hell since his last world title run. Wade Barrett, a guy who's currently stuck in the mid card and not looking near as credible as he used to be. And finally Cody Rhodes, great prospect for a future main eventer, but a fued or two short of that level....so we are short on credible heel main eventers, something the WWE wanted to avoid for Smackdown during the draft. It would've made sense to have Del Rio stay as the top heel because he's had experience as the top heel, and could've filled the void left by guys like Edge, Kane and Swagger when they were at the top of there game.

And if you look at the current main event....it's two faces going against each other....we all know that Face vs Face does not work. Del Rio vs Christian would've made much more sense than the fueds both guys are currently in, as Del Rio taking the title Christians long time friend Edge had would've given Christian more reason to go after the title, and prove himself as a top main eventer going against a hot heel.

It just seems to me like WWE are unsure on what to do with Del Rio, he had the big win at the Rumble, yet has been buried so far. No title, and is now on a brand where he is going to struggle in my eyes and get lost in the pack....it'd been much better to keep him on Smackdown, let him hold the title and build him as a great main eventer whilst building Christian even more too....Smackdown is currently so bad that the ratings are dropping a lot, and with hardly any top heels, I feel it was definitely the wrong move for Del Rio, not only for the show but for his career.

Do you think it was the wrong move?
Do you think Smackdown is in trouble?

There is one situation that could make Del Rio's move to RAW work is if he feuds with Cena after Cena defeats Miz at Over the Limit. I can't see Miz getting another PPV title shot so the next heel in line would be Del Rio.

Smackdown could certainly have used Del Rio as their top heel since they are very short on top heels right now. The four that you mentioned could eventually become the top heels but it will take at least another month. I think that face vs face will work for a short time but in the long term it won't work as there is no history between them. There is the potential for one of the two to turn heel during this feud so maybe we will get Christian or Orton as the top heel on Smackdown.

Del Rio seems to be the backup plan. It seemed sure that he would have won the title at Royal Rumble, then at basically every PPV since then. WWE keep pushing it back due to situations beyound his control though and eventually he will get that title win. A win over Cena would be huge for the title and hopefully that is the plan for him on RAW.

I disagree very strongly, I think Del Rio being moved to RAW is the best thing for him. There's no way he won't be next in line for the WWE Championship after The Miz is done, but for now I'm not sure what he'll do as R-Truth is booked to feud with Mysterio, so Del Rio doesn't have anything. Current plans have Del Rio facing Cena at Summerslam and it will no doubt be for the title, so this isn't a step down for him at all. He'll very shortly be the big heel on RAW, which is bigger than being the big heel on Smackdown considering the company value RAW over Smackdown.

Now Del Rio may have failed to win a World Championship yet, but really it has just been certain issues popping up that make more sense to have him not win the title. Basically it has just been an inconvenience, not a lack of faith or anything of the sorts. The guy will be World Champion this year, there is no questioning that, and like I said, he will be the big heel on RAW soon. The Miz hasn't reached the heights that has been expected, but Del Rio has.

Do I think Smackdown is in trouble? No way. Henry, Sheamus and Rhodes are more than capable of holding their own, it's just neither have been given any sort of opportunity. henry would be the one that would be the least entertaining in the ring, but he has done a great job as a heel so far.
