OKLAHOMA CITY -- Defense lawyers argue that the confession of an Oklahoma teenage murder suspect should be invalidated.
Crystian Rivera, 13, is charged with child abuse murder in the death of his 9-month-old baby sister.
Officers were called to a metro hospital on Aug. 16 after doctors said the baby's injuries were not consistent with an explanation given by the girl's parents.
Police testified that Rivera was playing a war video game while baby sitting the infant.
According to testimony, Rivera's confession included him telling officers that the baby's crying became frustrating, prompting him to shake her. Police said that Rivera acknowledged that her crying distracted him from his game and that his character was killed.
Police also said that Rivera demonstrated the force used against his sister on a doll. Detective Robert Davis testified that Rivera shook the doll hard.
I'm sorry, but the parents REALLY put a 13 year old in charge of a nine month old?
