Shane McMahon's son Declan McMahon says that he's not ruling out a potential future inside a WWE ring.
In an interview with WU Online's Michael Weaver Jr., Declan says that his focus is on football for now, but that he won't dismiss the possibility of stepping into a WWE storyline in the future.
McMahon said:
A freshman running back, McMahon committed to Indiana University in 2022, sitting out the season as a redshirt. He is on the roster for the 2023 college football campaign, but has yet to see playing time. He was awarded co-offensive scout team player of the week earlier this month in helping the Indiana Hoosiers prepare for a game against Michigan."When you've come up in this business, and you've seen it...
I'm never ruling it out. I would love to get in the ring, maybe, a couple times. But obviously you have to see if the opportunity presents itself. It's all about the story. But, we'll see."
McMahon says that he believes fans would get behind him should he end up in professional wrestling:
For now, McMahon says his focus is on his studies and a potential football career:"I think a lot of fans would get behind it if we ended up doing it. I think I'd be pretty good at it. But you never know. Never ruling that option out."
McMahon was shown on camera at WWE Fastlane with his Indiana teammates earlier this month holding the custom Indiana University "turnover belt" given to his defensive teammates when forcing a turnover."But as for now, I'm focusing on football and school. We'll play that [WWE] by ear."
