DDT Pro Wrestling and AEW have had a strong relationship since AEW's inception in 2019 and their partnership has been on display with AEW talent working DDT shows and vice versa.

Konosuke Takeshita has been a success story for the partnership as he's traveled between companies before officially signing with AEW on November 19.

DDT President Sanshiro Takagi recently visted AEW and spoke about his experience on the DDT YouTube channel (translations via DDT Pro English)

"I got to meet other guys who were in DDT before, like Ethan Page, Sammy Guevara, and Ricky Starks. I'm so glad to meet them. Ethan, Sammy, Ricky, all of them said their time in DDT was unforgettable. If there's a chance to go again bring them again. I'd like to bring them again. Ricky Starks really grew lots! We brought him and Mike Rollins as a unit and I thought they were a team but they weren't!" he said with a laugh.

Page, Guevara, and Starks wrestled for DDT before signing with AEW.

When asked if any wrestling tried to "sell themselves" to him, Takagi responded, "They were a few wrestlers saying out of politeness 'I want to come Japan again' or 'I'd like to wrestle in Japan.' Some of them really got me and perhaps I might bring some over. I won't say who right now however."

Asked if Kenny Omega could still appear for DDT after it was announced that he would return to NJPW, Takagi said, "Of course. But I won't say anything. I'll maintain absolute secrecy about this."

Omega last wrestled for DDT in November 2019, teaming with Riho to defeat Antonio Honda & Miyu Yamashita.

Me too, more besides Archer at least lol (not that he shouldn't go to Japan, just more along with him)

I'm guessing one of the main issues before was restrictions and I would assume maybe they don't want to send talent to quiet crowds

Restrictions for sure, the visa requirement thing wasn't changed back until September or October I think? Not sure if the crowd thing matters as much as it's just annoying for us as fans tho, it's weird bc rn it seems like the small venues allow cheering but the big ones that they can get a lot of fans in don't so they have to like trade off
