Dax Harwood announces end of podcast

AEW Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood announced at the end of his latest podcast that he and co-host Matt Koon are ending the weekly 'FTR with Dax' show, effective immediately.

"I think we both feel we were causing more harm than good even though we were trying to do good. It just didn't come across that way or portray it that way. We were more of a detriment to professional wrestling than we thought and never wanted to do that," Harwood said.

The show was first announced last December and featured Harwood and Koon talking about the career of FTR in addition to current wrestling events and focused subjects like CM Punk and the Young Bucks.

Harwood didn't rule out a return to podcasting someday, saying that he really loved the experience and what it meant to fans.

He took issue with how media outlets would take things he said on the show and made them seem like he was a bad human being. He apologized to his fans, those that already didn't like him, fans of The Elite and MJF, and anyone that he may have upset along the way.

"I never wanted you to hate me so much that you would say some of the things you said to me," he explained. He also said they while he and Koon knew the podcast would ruffle some feathers, they wanted the show to "do good for wrestling."

"...I thought I was way more mentally tough than I am, but I admit that I am not. I don't think I can handle some of the things that are said, and I don't want my daughter to read things ten years from now that are said about me," he explained.

Koon said AEW didn't pressure them to end the show, nor did "trolls" or the media. There was also no falling out between the two.

"We really just don't feel good about fact that that what we are doing is hurting wrestling or hurting AEW," Koon said, adding that they "flew too close to the sun" and "made life difficult for some people."

Harwood said some of those people included those who he works with now, those he used to work with, and fans. He singled out Cash Wheeler and Punk as those who got heat due to things he said on the podcast that didn't deserve it.

I feel for him for his mental health issues. I will say the "it's everyone else over-reacting" act is getting real old and I think he is being a bit dishonest taking zero responsibility for the things he put out there (and letting his co host be a negative shit stirrer).

But honestly this podcast was clearly causing issues with people backstage and it's for the best he stops it if he is going to talk about current stuff.

I ain't gonna lie I disagree wholeheartedly.

I had high hopes for it but it was so disjointed it was as if Regal didn't care about whatever topic they were talking about. Maybe he gives it another go eventually and it's better but I had such high hopes when I heard about the podcast and it ended up being a really difficult listen.

I wonder who they get to replace Dax now. I think it's gotta be a retired wrestler as it is clear no matter what a current guy says they'll get shit on by everyone.
