Darby Allin has been considered for a run with the AEW World Championship, according to a new report.

Darby Allin has been considered for a run with the AEW World Championship, according to a new report. Allin is set to get a World Championship match against the winner of All In’s Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson match on the September 25th Grand Slam episode of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, and the WON reports that there has been talk about Allin getting a run as champion at some point.

The report notes that an Allin World Title reign has been seriously talked about, though exactly when it will happen is not clear. Danielson is the betting odds favorite to win the World Title at All In, but if he does win his title reign is not expected to be long as he requires neck surgery and is at the end of his in-ring career. Allin has been discussed to win the title regardless of who wins at All In.

As much as I think Darby is great. No way is he winning the title. Bryan's winning at All In . Tony Khan having Bryan lose would be a stupid move and he's not going to let that happen.

He definitely screams transitional champion. Which is fine cause he’s a better chaser than champion

You're spot on, he needs not a long reign. I think he's fine for a lengthy midcard reign but the World Title needs only a short reign to say that he's won it.

I'm thinking Swerve keeps it til Darby wins in New York. If only because I got Hangman winning the Casino match and Swerve/Hangman for the Championship at All Out feels like an easy build on 2 weeks notice. Swerve then finishes his feud with Hangman in Chicago and Darby wins it in New York.

Unless they give it to D-Bry who loses it to Darby in New York.
