Daniels defeated James Storm at Genesis to earn a World Heavyweight Title shot on the January 24th episode of Impact Wrestling.

Cool to see, but I don't think Hogan would let Daniels take the strap.

Quite weird, there was a thread or something recently on here asking whether Daniels could or would ever take that next step. There were doubters, but many of us believed he should take it and it looks like he has. Regardless of whether he's winning, it's nice to see one damn entertaining star up there.

Out of the two in Bad Influence, Kaz has more of the ME look IMO. I just hope it isn't a cluster fuck match with nothing but interference. :russo:

AJ Styles is boring, and has been for a long time.

Well, didn't like Hardy retaining but Daniels being #1 contender is awesome. Would love to see him as champ.

Daniels would make a great Champion, I really hope he gets the title in the near future.

Daniels would be an awesome champ but thinking about it I'm not so sure it would happen. I'm not saying it as a Hardy fan or anything but think about it, who else is in the running right now? We have Roode and Aires, so if Daniels is champ we will have a main event line up of 90 percent heel. Now if they propped up say Bully Ray and let's say James Storm then I can see it happening.

You say that like it would be something to be ashamed of. Not at all. I'm a huge Hardy fan, you can't fault his work in ring and dedication to the business. What I think bothers most people is that he is the champion yet again. We've seen it all before, and it is somewhat unfair that equally hard workers such as Bully, Storm and Daniels are not in his position.

I just didn't want people to get the impression that I just want hardy to retain that's all. I am a Hardy fan myself

I think due to his past the "dedication to the business" point is kind of null. I think a lot of people lost respect for him, especially the IWC.

Oh well, his theme is nice.

He will job, it will be a huge match. Could be reason for him to probably face the odd man out, most likely Storm again.

Actually, Hogan himself (and Bischoff) praised Daniels so many times through 2012, so that statement is simply not true.

Daniels simply being #1 contender puts HUGE smile to my face, even though he won't win.
