Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion Daniel Cormier went under the knife - once again - to repair his broken hand on Monday, Cormier told Sherdog Radio Network's Beatdown Show. "DC" is hoping to be fully-healed and ready to return to action later this fall."I had the surgery on Monday. (Thursday) I go in to see my doctor, get my splint off and then I can start rehab and start preparing to fight again," Cormier said. "He's telling me how that in six weeks I can start punching again, but as early as Monday, I can start grappling and running and everything."

Cormier first broke the hand when he defeated Antonio Silva last year. After electing to go without surgery that time, he was forced to go under the knife after injuring it again against Josh Barnett in the finals.

As for a potential final Strikeforce fight, Cormier mentioend Tim Sylvia as an opponent he wouldn't mind facing. Sylvia is a former UFC heavyweight champion.

"If Tim Sylvia's the guy that they put across the cage from me, then that's the guy I will fight on that day, but it doesn't really matter to me," Cormier said. "I think anytime you get to fight a guy that held the UFC title, it's a big deal."

I swear he breaks his hand after every fight he has. I wouldn't even mind seeing him fight Sylvia honestly, be nice to see Tim get fucked up.

Wonder when it will start to cause long term damage, can't be good breaking the same hand two fights in a row. I would prefer someone of a higher class than Sylvia for his next opponent, it would be too easy if he faced him next.

Definitely not good breaking your hand so frequently, it wasn't shocking to hear about this though. He and Barnett had a fucking war when they fought each other.
