Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finalist Daniel Cormier wants nothing more than to claim the title when he meets Josh Barnett later this year. However, "DC" knows his future is in the UFC.

"We're going to get our chance in the UFC so it kind of takes a little bit of the....there's no surprise to it," said Cormier, in an interview with MMAWeekly.com. "We're going. I've got some business to take care of with Josh."

Cormier wants nothing more than to take down Barnett and earn the belt that has the names of several former heavyweight champions on it, including Fedor Emelianenko and Alistair Overeem. The bout with Barnett is set for May 19, likely in California.

"If I can finish with the belt....that's a huge accomplishment," Cormier said, "for a guy who's only been fighting for two-and-a-half years."

Probably could make a case for himself if he beats Josh Barnett in May, Regardless though I think He'll end up in the UFC a some point and time.

He will make it across eventually. Would be another good addition to a stacked division and would create plenty of new fight options.
