Dana Becker said:
fightline.com - Daniel Cormier took news of Jon Jones-Alexander Gustafsson becoming official for later this year quite well on Twitter, stating that he plans to repair his injured knee, spend time with his family and enjoy in the sweeter things in life.

“Just got word Jones is fighting Gustafsson again in September,†Cormier wrote on Instagram. “So I will enjoy this brownie, spend some time with my family and get my knee fixed. It’ll all work out. We will be the champion.â€

Cormier, coming off a submission victory over Dan Henderson, was pushing to replace Gustafsson and meet Jones next for the UFC light heavyweight title. The champion seemed on board with the move, but UFC officials were able to put pen-to-paper and sign the rematch instead.

The former U.S. Olympian was asked if he will take another fight while Jones and Gustafsson square off, to which he replied, “NO.†He added that he really wants to face Jones because “he’s the champion long reigning means more to fight him for the title.â€

He even offered Jones some words of encouragement, writing, “Good luck Jon Jones get er done! See u next year!†A follower asked Cormier why he would want to face “the loser†referencing Jones, to which he replied, “He won’t lose.â€

If anybody cares to check out the brownie, here it is: http://instagram.com/p/o4zZkKLgwG/

Man, does that ever look good or what?! Tomorrow can't come soon enough :( So I can eat ice cream and BBQ'd hamburgers!

Back on topic, we all know who DC's picking for UFC 178! We don't know the severity of the injury but from a fighters perspective, I'd wanna be back in the cage as soon as possible making money and kickin' ass.

I guess it's a little different when you're a family man.

Hey, if he's got the title shot lined up anyway, may as well hold back and heal up. No point talking Jones up and then facing him less than 100%

Man, I just still can't get over that brownie. Good thing I had my junk day yesterday

Oh, right.. Cormier...

From his standpoint it makes the most sense. Like I said, we don't know the severity of his knee injury so hopefully it doesn't require surgery. Also he wants to spend time with his family, and eat like shit. It's no wonder he doesn't want to put himself through the stress of cutting weight with an injury

From my personal standpoint, I love to fight and would fight as often as I could. Pay's never been a factor to me I just love to put on a show, so if I was him I'd be back in earlier but I see where he's coming from. Although I do have an itch to see that Rashad Evans fight that was put off after Evans got injured.
