Daniel Bryan discussed feeling detached while wrestling at WrestleMania 37 in a new interview.

Talking to BT Sports about his match at WrestleMania 37, Bryan said he experienced a ‘detached’ feeling while wrestling Roman Reigns and Edge in a triple threat match for the Universal title.

"It's taken me time to fully process what the experience was like because it wasn't like a normal thing,” he explained. “It was really weird, like out of body in it. When I'm wrestling, I feel everything and feel like I really enjoy it. This was weird, I was out there and it felt like I was detached. It was so strange in fact that before the match started, I got this strange feeling like, 'Is this what it's like before you die? Am I going to die? I was like huh, well, okay.' I don't know why or how it happened, but it was unlike anything I have felt while wrestling."

He later explained that he may have seen it as a sign of winding down his career as a full-time wrestler, which he has expressed before in previous interviews.

“The odd detachment, I was like, 'woah’,” he said. “Like I said, I'm either gonna die or maybe it's a sign that this isn't it and it isn't the same type of fulfillment that it was before. I've been trying to meditate on it and talk to my friends that I'm close with like 'hey, what is that?'"

Bryan also confirmed in the interview that his contract was coming up “relatively soon” and was considering what he would do.

Roman Reigns defeated Bryan and Edge at WrestleMania 37 to retain the Universal title. Bryan did not appear on the following edition of SmackDown.

Daniel Bryan wants to keep wrestling and wants to wrestle everywhere.

Bryan has openly discussed his desire to wind down his career as a full-time wrestler as his current contract with WWE expires. During a meet-and-greet session ahead of WrestleMania 37, Bryan once again confirmed his contract is up soon and he's figuring out how to balance wrestling with being a father and husband.

"My contract is up soon. We need to figure out what's a good balance between home life and wrestling. I never want to stop wrestling, I love it, it's just figuring that out," he said.

When asked if he could wrestle elsewhere, Bryan said, "It'd be interesting if I could wrestle in different companies and WWE. That's something I'm trying to weasel my way into right now. [laughs]"

Bryan has said in the past that he'd like to wrestle guys like MJF, Jungle Boy, Jonathan Gresham and others who are not currently under a WWE contract.

It makes sense. He's basically accomplished all there is to do in WWE. He had his big rise and main event moment at WrestleMania 30, so I'm really not surprised this felt a bit more like going through the motions.

It'd be cool to see him wrestle elsewhere so he can face fresh talent, but I'd also get it if he just retires and spends more time with his family. At the end of the day, it comes down to him.

I'm sure the fans wouldn't mind seeing him tear it up in another company, if that is what he wants to do.
