UFC Prez Dana White talks Fedor:

“My job is to put on the best fighters and to give you, the fans, the fights you want to see. I’ve been trying to get Fedor in the UFC. I want it because you want it. Believe me, I’m trying to make it happen. He’ll fight for the title first. What does he need, a tune-up fight or something? … To argue where this guy sits in the heavyweight division, we can argue that all day. Fedor has a ton of experience. The guy’s been around forever. But you can’t take anything away from Brock Lesnar … It’s an interesting fight. It’s a very good fight. Fedor’s got to come to a deal first. If Randy can go out there and cut that deal with Fedor, then Randy, get to work, buddy.”

Pretty bold statement from Dana, but he's trying anything for the press when it comes to possibly signing Fedor to the UFC...

I just read an article from LATimes where an annonymous source said the negotiations are "civil" which is good. I think the announcement is comin Friday during the press conference

Here's the report that XB mentioned:

http://www.411mania.com/MMA/news/111704

According to the LA Times, Fedor Emelianenko and the UFC are finalizing a deal to finally bring the long time top ranked heavyweight to the organization.

A media conference call is scheduled to be held on Friday at 2:00 pm EST, where the report states Dana White will announce the signing of Emelianenko. 411mania.com will be present at the conference call, so be sure to stay tuned as the situation develops.

UFC President Dana White has stated numerous times in the past that if Emelianenko were to sign with the UFC he would receive an immediate heavyweight title shot.

People thought Mir/Lesnar II was big, they haven't seen anything until they've seen Lesnar/Fedor! HOLY SHIT

Only problem is if he beats Brock (which he would and will) and decides that he wants out, he basically just took the title and left, which makes the UFC HW division look like shit. So the deal better be at least a 3-5 fight deal.

lol.. thats just plain hate towards Lesnar.

Anyway, Coutoure vs Fedor would be awesome fight. I think would be a good match before watching Fedor/Lesnar for title. But if he will be added to the title fight straight away; I think Lesnar will win this (KO TBH). and thats the best scenario for Lesnar to not lose the fight is to KO Fedor as soon as possible.

Sports Illustrated published an article on Tuesday saying otherwise.

And actually mmatorch.com has an article as of today saying that negotiations have fallen through again.

Could all be a red herring I suppose but I'm betting that M-1 who represents Fedor has screwed this deal again because they want UFC to co-promote the fight with them which is completely unreasonable.

yea I read that today, M-1 is trying to mooch off the UFC by using Fedor as bait. That's BS. If they don't end up signing Fedor I would lmao at Dana's conference tomorrow, all this hype just to say Tito is back in UFC lol

Bottom line:

Fedor is not going to the UFC unless the UFC with copromote with M-1 Global. UFC will never EVER do that. No Fedor in the UFC EVER.

Also to announce that they've struck some kind of deal with ESPN. I know that they've signed with ESPN in the UK after Setanta went down, I'm just not certain what it will have to do with the North American side of things.

I know that north american ESPN has some MMA on it. The day of UFC 100 they had Randy Couture and Florian behind the desk covering the event. The deal that I have read about was striking a deal in terms of broadcasting events and shows like TUF on ESPN, nothing is certain, those were rumors I read.
