UFC president Dana White caught the attention of TMZ recently, and the popular celebrity gossip site had just one question for White: what about Fedor Emelianenko?

As you can imagine, White's response was typical, as the brash leader of the UFC did not hold back his true feelings. White and Emelianenko, along with his management team, have never been able to come to an agreement to get "The Last Emperor" inside the Octagon.

"Fedor sucks man," White said. "Get over the Fedor thing."

Recently, Fedor defeated Satoshi Ishii at DREAM's annual New Year's Eve show in Japan. He also stopped Jeff Monson in his native country of Russia in 2011, halting a three-fight losing skid.
:lmao

You've gotta love Dana White's brutal honesty

Found that pretty funny because he didn't sign to UFC.

Yeah, i read some other article saying the UFC should bring in Fedor because Brock's gone now. But Eh, I think Dana is pretty content without Fedor.

The only reason he didn't sign with UFC is cause M-1 Global are a bunch of idiots thinking that they had enough clout to tell UFC that the only way they'd let fedor sign is if they can co-promote every fight Fedor is in... Its like really? UFC is THE biggest MMA organization in the world. They had no need for co promotion. M-1 just wanted a free ride like they were doing with Strikeforce.

Funny though cause Dana at one time was getting a hard on over possibly signing Fedor but... things changed. Fedor's mystique has faded with his 3 losses but his legacy will always be intact.

Fedor may be done but he still has value, it's fading quick, but they could make money off him if he signed with them in the next year or two. There's just a ton of high profile matches they could put him in that would get them a ton of buys. But it won't happen mainly because like mentioned above M1 is just a complete joke, Dana may talk shit, but if the chance came and there was money to be made he'd bring him in.

Shame that he didn't sign a few years back when he was still on the winning streak around about the time Lesnar made the move to UFC. Would have drawn huge PPV numbers and there were plenty of heavyweights for him to fight. M-1 are idiots thinking that they were on the level of UFC and could co-promote. Still as others have said if a deal can be worked Dana would take him in UFC since it would bring in a lot of money.

Hypothetical question. If Fedor did sign with UFC for one fight who would you have him face?

Overeem. That fight was to happen in the Strikeforce Grand Prix but it never went down cause Fedor got dominated by Silva and that wasn't expected. Plus Coker was too much of a pansy to just make the fight happen. Other than that not sure what other big one fight Fedor could have in UFC that would matter.

Chael Sonnen
Jon Jones
Anderson Silva

No need for him to face heavyweights, he'd get demolished.

He's not a middleweight so Chael is out of the question. Anderson seems more content fighting at middleweight so that is out... plus Fedor is a whole lot bigger than Anderson which wouldn't be fair to Silva. Jon Jones... the current top light heavyweight? Really? That would make absolutely no sense.

And how could he get demolished by heavyweights? That's where he has fought literally his entire career. The guy only suffers 3 losses and now he'll get beat by any heavyweight? Open your eyes. The guy is still one of the most talented heavyweights out there.

He got beat by a career middleweight moving to a catchweight in his last meaningful fight (Dan Henderson).

Think about what you are saying.

It doesn't matter if anyone moves up to face him or Fedor moves down, those guys would dust him for a joke, the man is done as a top level fighter, hence why he is facing Jeff Monson's of this world.

Also to clarify, Fedor's always been an extremely small heavyweight, if he actually had a proper training camp he could make 185lbs with ease, maybe even 170.

Hendo is one that has had his last few fights at light heavyweight which is why he was the ... light heavyweight champion before he fought Fedor. It wasn't like he was a 185 pound fighter than was like... okay lets add over 20 pounds and fight Fedor. He was already establishing himself as a light heavyweight before the fight. So Hendo did not have to add too much weight to reach the catchweight weight and Fedor only had to drop a little bit and even in that fight Fedor was able to catch Hendo before being reversed and finished. So it wasn't like Fedor was dominated in the fight.

In his fight with Werdum he had him down but was reckless in going for the win and got caught. In his Silva loss... he was able to hold his own and withstand a lot of abuse against a guy that was a lot bigger than him. Already went over the Hendo fight.

So it isn't like Fedor is all of a sudden some over the hill fighter that should retire and doesn't belong in the fight game anymore. And the fact that you are talking down Monson the way that you are... the guy has had 56 fights in his career... 55 up until the Fedor fight so it isn't like he was facing some rookie or some guy that was kinda fresh in the game. He was facing a vet. Not the most high profile wins in his career but the guy isn't just some wash over.

And as far as your clarification... I've known Fedor to be a small heavyweight. That isn't news to me. He could always drop to light heavyweight... but a drop to middleweight would be more difficult considering his size. Just because he is a small heavyweight... he is normally around 230... and to drop from that to 185? No... that is not healthy nor would it ever be wise for a fighter to drop that far unless he plans on permanently fighting there and this late in his career would make zero sense. So yeah it could happen but it would have to be a career move and not move back up.

But as far as those guys just running through him... Really? Are you paying attention to who Fedor is and these guys you listed? Fedor is immensely talented. A fight against Anderson would be a technical masterpiece. Anderson might hold the advantage. Against Chael... thats where you got ridiculous. Chael is a wrestler. Fedor could catch him with a knee as he tries to take him down... could out strike Chael with ease, could sub him as soon as he got him down. Fedor does have Judo and Sambo skills so he could just as easily take Chael down as you are presumably assuming Chael would get him down.

The only unknown really is Jon Jones cause there is still so much not known about Jones. And not only that... Fedor knows how to hit and hit hard. Machida is the only person that has been able to really catch Machida but it was in a rush of punches and he isn't known for his KO power in his hands. Fedor is. Getting hit by Fedor is a world of difference than being hit by Machida.

Fedor is nowhere near done as a top level fighter. He will always be considered up there due to his skill set, his durability, his experience, the guy has it all.
