My heart just dropped when Sonnen got caught. He got lazy for 5 seconds after winning the underdog fight. Silva proved he's nothing more then a bully who underestimated Sonnen even though Sonnen told the world at every corner that he shouldn't

Fucking douchebag silva.

Sonnen deserves an immediate rematch

Alot of people I know slept on this PPV because it didn't have the hype of a Lesnar main event or whatever but Sonnen vs. Silva totally delivered. I had picked Sonnen to take it but credit is due to Silva, the guy took a beating and kept coming. Big ups to Silva for yet again keeping the belt.

Whats really eerie about this fight is how the similarities are to Sonnen vs. Paulo Filho in WEC when Filho was WEC champ. Sonnen came out and decimated and controlled him, then got caught in a controversial submission. A few months later in the rematch (non-title because WEC was dissolving the 185ers), Sonnen destroyed Filho and handed him his first career loss.

Im really surprised anyone slept on this card. Top to bottom this was a solid event. Silva vs. Sonnen, Nelson vs. dos Santos, Hughes vs. Almeida, Guida vs. dos Anjos, Hallman vs. Saunders, etc. all solid bouts. Fans need to start watching the guys they don't know. Just because you don't know a name doesn't mean you're not missing out on great fights. I don't know if Sonnen will get an immediate rematch, though Im sure Dana White is thinking about it, after what happened. Let's face facts, the guy that Dana White has lauded as the best Pound for Pound got his ass kicked for the better part of 4 and 1/2 rounds, but as with any champion and BJJ Black Belt, all it takes is too get lacakadaisical for a split second, and all your hard work is gone in a single tap. I think Anderson knows if a rematch comes he has to prepare differently. I wanted Sonnen to take it and he damn near did, but you gotta be careful when dealing with a fighter like Anderson who's so well known for striking, but his BJJ is top notch as well.

Hey you know what though Phantom, he schooled the supposed Pound for Pound best (in White's eyes) for 4 and 1/2 rounds. Granted he didn't finish the fight, but it was a fight that most fans didn't even give him a chance to win. Sonnen will get another title shot. It's going to be interesting now with Belcher and Belfort in the running as well. I give props to Anderson because he did what he had to do. He knew damn well he was losing that fight and had to finish it, and that's what he did. That's what champions do. I have a feeling his time is coming soon at 185. If nobody knew who Chael was before this, they do now. I hope this turns out like his 2 WEC battles with Filho where he lost the first after dominating most of the fight, then came back to decimate him completely.

^^^ I don't think he will win the rematch to be honest. Everything was going right for him here and he couldn't pull it off. THere was the rib injury, and he caught Silva's kick twice. Add that to the fact Silva can learn from this match and There wouldn't be another close attempt again.
