"It's not that I have this plan that I'm out in seven years. I know what the seven-year plan is with the FOX deal and I think my place in this sport and in this organization, I've always known what I wanted to do and I absolutely know that we're gonna do it in the next seven years.

I know where this thing's gonna go and where it's gonna be and I think that in seven years the sport, the athletes that are competing in this sport, building all the weight classes, doing all the things that need to be done, we're gonna get this stuff done in the next seven years. The one goal that we did set out to do was to get this thing in every country. We're gonna be there in seven years. I'm not saying I'm retiring the day this FOX deal is up, or anything like that, but it is what's kinda on my mind."

I could never see him retiring fully. He loves the sport too much.

Why would he hint at retiring when he's only 42. I don't see him retiring either with his love of MMA.

Apparently he has this disease which is basically a very serious version of vertigo and that may play a role in him wanting to retire early.

It is still six years away so he could always change his mind before then. I can see where he is coming from though, once this Fox deal is up he will have taken UFC from this small company that was struggling and was banned in most states and turned it into the fatest growing sport of it's time. It is now a billion dollar company and is only going to get bigger. He has a few kids as well so he would probably want to spend time with them rather than traveling the country, and world, being away from them all the time.

Yeah he needs to have surgery for it, but i guess if he does they go and cut a nerve. And afterwards he would have to learn how to walk and stuff again all over.

He was supposed to have the surgery last week, but his doctor refused to perform it because of everything that's involved with it afterwards.
