Dan Hardy likes to rescue abandoned cats in Las Vegas. Matt Hughes likes to shoot wild cats in Texas. And Hardy really wants to fight Hughes, as related in a recent piece by MMAWeekly.

"That blood thirsty kill freak. I can't stand the dude. ... The thing is, at this stage in his career, I know he's past his peak. I know he's not looked great in his last few fights, and maybe he's kind of winding down. I would love to fight him and, if he was willing to take the fight, I would by all means love to get in there and put it on him, but I'm not going to chase after the guy cause he has passed his peak and he may not want to a fight against someone who doesn't like him as much as me."

I don't know why he's still on about this, he's been saying the same shit about Hughes for like a year now. Guy is lucky he doesn't have to fight Matt, he'd get KO'd.

Matt Hughes would just pick him up, walk around the octagon, high five the ref, then SLAM Hardy down and choke him out. Hughes hands suck :p

Well, yeah but I'd much rather see him go for the KO just because Dan Hardy is annoying as hell.

Just as long as he slams him first I don't care how he finishes him :D

I like how Dan Hardy says that he isn't going to chase after the guy yet that is all he has been doing the past few months. Dana should just book this fight so that we can see Hardy lose and then he can be fired because he isn't up to UFC standards anymore.

I dunno. I wouldn't take this fight either if I was Hughes. I don't think he should be scared of Dan at all, but after losing to Koscheck in shameful fashion, he needs to end on a high note. He might have two or three left in him, but this could very well be his last fight, so I'd say his best bet would be someone a little under Hardy's level, maybe Chris Lytle. If he wanted to fight Hardy though, it would be a fight. He could likely beat him, but it's not a guaranteed thing. And if he was willing to face someone Dan Hardy-caliber, he might as well fight Jake Shields, because people will care a lot more about that fight than they would a fight with Hardy.

Hughes would take him down at will and sub him any time of his choosing.

Washed up or not, Hardy has zero chance in this fight.

Moot point anyway, he's probably going to get knocked out by Bang Ludwig and be cut from the company.

Again, they were probably thinking Matt Hughes would knock Josh Koscheck off his high horse, but nothing of that sort happened. Koscheck dropped him in about a minute so just consider that.

Dan Hardy isn't a power puncher and isnt Kos though, he's a boring fighter whos lucky Dana has a fetish for Brits.
