On April 20, 2010, The Ironton Tribune reported that Szatkowski and Jeff Hardy had been arrested on the previous evening on U.S. Route 52 in Hanging Rock, Ohio. Szatkowski had been stopped for speeding by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper, who discovered that he was in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin pills, while Hardy was in possession of drug paraphernalia and nine tablets of Testolactone.

Before the Hardy-RVD match went down I predicted RVD over Hardy and RVD picking up the belt because I thought it was 4-20 today. Then once he won I thought I was a genius then remembered it was only 4-19 and I felt stupid.

Total Nonstop Action is an attraction for Orlando based theme park Universal Studios and imitates a wrestling promotion. When spotted exiting a local 7-11 with a bag of Puffy Cheetos and three slurpies and asked why he pawned the attraction's title belt, Van Dam replied " Hey man, do you gotta joint?" To which the reporter responded certainly not, Van Dam responded "It'd be alot cooler if you did."
