WWE Crown Jewel Removed from Company's 2018 Events Calendar amid Criticism

The WWE has removed the Crown Jewel show scheduled for November 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from its calendar of events, according to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com.

The WWE has not made a formal announcement or statement in regard to the event, however.

The news comes in the wake of the suspected murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, with mounting suspicions that Saudi Arabia was responsible. According to BBC News, "The authorities in Istanbul believe Mr Khashoggi was murdered in the consulate by Saudi agents—claims Riyadh has dismissed as 'lies.'"

On social media, people were outraged they still planned to go through with it, so WWE started facing heavy backlash.
As of right now, it would appear they are listening to the fans and there is a good chance it is indeed canceled.

I say good. Those people treat others who are not like them poorly, and their own women even worse. I hope time changes things for them.

Yeah I read that. They are planning on making a switch to the UK and apparently, a lot of wrestlers do not want to be part of this PPV (Crown Jewel) anymore.
