tagging @[JoeRulz] since he might be interested in this. As well as @[Testify]

It has been reported that there have been some changes in the creative department of Ring Of Honor. Out goes Jim Cornette, who will remain with the company in another capacity and in steps.. well no one, Delirious (Hunter Johnston) who was working with Cornette since Adam Pearce was released will now take full control of the booking.

Everyone knows, I’m a big ROH fan, have been since the first show, some of their better wrestlers have moved on to pastures new, we all know who they are so I don’t need to go on and tell you but the talent they have left, really do they have enough to keep the fans they still have happy and probably more importantly, the fans that went away because of the disappointment of the product etc?

Not taking anything away from the roster they have now which includes Adam Cole, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, Kevin Steen some really good talents but then in saying that, they also let some good talent go in my opinion anyway, with TJ Perkins and more notably – The Young Bucks recently.

I’m a big fan of The Bucks as listeners of The Indy Corner will know and thought things were bad enough but then when it was announced they were released I really got annoyed.

In closing, I’ll have to give the guys a chance, I really hope they can turn things around, please us fans that still watch and maybe just maybe they can put out a good enough product that those fans who turned away from ROH actually come back.

What ya think? :burns:

Cornette's product outright sucked, for the most part. Storylines were worse than in Russo's best days, and even the great talents couldn't make up for it. I'm glad he's gone now, but I don't expect drastic changes. I'd love to get into RoH again, because Jim Cornette and crappy booking got me to the state of not watching.

Bottom line, good decision by upper brass managment, hopefully RoH gets better now, and their iPPV shit streams are past now. Kill Steen kill!

Cornette is no longer in charge of creative?? :yay:

Maybe with a bit of time the product will start to be good and more enjoyable again. He pretty much ruined RoH for numerous fans. Will at least be interesting to see how it goes from here, if it changes much at all. Smart move by RoH though, I'd say.

Well, finally is all I can say. The big damage is already done, but I'm an optimist, it can only get better. Delirious is a good wrestling mind, he could deliver.

Hope things get better for Ring of Honor. The company really deserves good wrestling storylines. Also about time they remove Mr. Fuck this company, he did lots of damage to it.

Two fantastic posts from elsewhere, they hit the nail on this subject:

Is anything really going to change? I don't remember 2010/2011 ROH after Pearce but before the SBG era being booked great besides Steen/Generico and that was one where the wrestlers running it more then anything. The television production is still going to be piss poor, people still aren't going to trust the ippv feeds, SBG still isn't going to want to pump a bunch of money in it, there's still going to be guys in the company that have no business being in there, the tv/house show disconnect will remain and unless Cornette was a dictator and Johnson was booker in name only I don't know that the booking is going to do a 180.

Even with that said, he's still with the company so who says he's not still going to be booking anyway but letting Hunter take the heat now? I mean, didn't they say he was the booker in the first place and not Cornette?

And:

Cornette is the old-school version of Vince Russo.

Russo and Cornette are both only good in advisory roles (aka being able to throw ideas out without making them stick) with someone that has a strong enough personality (Vince) to take the good ideas and run or tell them to shut the fuck up.

Both have run everything not named WWF into the ground with their styles of booking. Russo's booking took shitty disfunctional WCW behind the garage and put a bullet in its brain; Cornette's booking of ROH took it back into the 80's when the company prided itself on being on the cutting edge of wrestling; both helped completely fuck up TNA.
