One of the biggest aspects of The Miz's current character is talking about how awesome he is and how much better than the 'WWE Universe' he is. Now, I am not a big fan of direct comparisons but, in many ways The Miz reminds me of The Rock during his heel run in 98-99 as The Corporate Champion, with obvious differences like he doesn't have McMahon's on-screen backing and isn't carrying A world title.

But he does ooze charisma (imo) much like The Rock and he does have the crowd chanting "Awesome" along side him when he says it, much like Rocky with his catch phrases. That reaction from the fans is imo the sole reason for his eventual face turn. I have also seen quite a few Miz t-shirts and signs on Raw, much like Rocky as well. So this brings up the question, do you think he could succesfully turn face much like The Rock?

I honestly do think that he could, despite his strictly heel character I think he could get over as a face. What about you guys?

This is tricky. Internet fans are very picky about who they want cheered and who they WANT to cheer. The Miz is popular with smarks because he's a heel and a good one at that Turn him face and they'll all complain about him being weak and stale and sucking up to fans. Let's not worry about this now and wait until he's a heel world champion.

I think the Miz's face turn if it does come will mirror how we originally saw Jericho turn face back in the day. Playing the cocky/funny asshole role to such perfection that the majority of the crowd starts to love it... all it will take is a well placed joke on the right heel.

Hold on, I have said before that I see a huge amount of face potential but when I said that all I got was people disagreeing (said it in a few threads I might find them :l) but now people say they can see it (btw, I'm not critziing nou, s_e and enzo because I don't think they were involved).

I have noticed his simialrities to a Rock like character ever since his promo on NXT when he was going all crazy when telling Bryan to take his charisma and put it into him. It sounded like a very cocky face promo to me rather than an egotistical heel promo. If this face turn does happen Miz could open a window for Cena to turn heel with Miz becoming the top face.

By far this would be the most enetertaining face turn the WWE could make right now (yes, better than a Jericho turn ). I can't see it happening any time soon though with him teaming with Jericho, unless they turn the team face but they would have the exact same character.

This.

I just hope that when he does turn, it wont be horrid like recent turns turn out to be. MVP, Morrison, Edge off the top of my head had suck ass face runs after playing good heels. Orton may have the best face turn of the past 5 years.

I wouldn't want him as a face, he makes such a great heel on raw.

I agree. WWE is desperate for high quality heels with enough mic skills to rile up the crowd.

WWE is jam packed full of high quality heels with enough mic skills to rile up the crowd such as: Batista (if he stays), Sheamus, Swagger, Edge, Jericho, Punk to mention a few whereas the quality faces with..... (blah blah blah) are Cena, Rey, Orton and possibly Big Show (btw I only mentioned main eventers). All the recently pushed superstars have been heel, WWE especially Smackdown are in need of an original face that can carry the company for a while, because if Cena turns Rey, Orton and Show won't be able to carry the company as top faces.

Why is everyone assuming "the Cena heel turn" is coming in the near future? How long was Hogan "The Immortal", role-model like, superhero before he turned? Like 15 years?!?! And the only reason he turned was because of.....hmm seems to be constant with anything associated with Hogan....MONEY and PRIDE!!! WCW was falling flat on it's face pre 1996. They were desperate for money and ratings and really didn't have a choice. Also Hogan was bitter that the fans had turned on him and started to boo. All of this can be backed up in several interview with Hogan since then. So I don't think we should assume Cena is going to turn heel any time soon. For one, I don't think Cena really cares who boos him or cheers him. He knows his target audience is the kids, and they will cheer him regardless of how stale his character is because to them it's still real. Case in point....Rey Mysterio. Also Vince has NO competition. Those of you idiots that actually think TNA is competing on par with WWE...please...do all of us knowledgeable wrestling fans a favor...and kill yourselves!

That being said....Miz is a great heel right now. Why the rush to turn him? Vince is aware of the day and age of the 16-35 year old fan rooting for whoever the hell they feel like regardless of them being "good" or "evil". I could argue on length that The Rock and Austin were neither a face or heel. The only reason people associate them as faces was because of their feuds with Vince on screen. But as for fitting the definition of a "babyface" in kayfabe terms......hardly! So I think Miz is fine staying just the way he is. The kiddies will continue to hate him and the older wrestling fans will respect his mic skills and be entertained....thus....CHEERS!!! Besides he needs to prove he can mainevent as a heel before he turns to a face. Christ the guy hasn't even been around 5 years yet. Let him have some time to develop in the role he's in now.

This is one of the problems from the IWC. Just 2 years ago, people were putting The Miz in the "please fire this guy" list, now, they are claiming he can carry the WWE like John Cena (by the way, I think he can, he has the same passion if not more than Cena does and is just as committed).

Why would you want to turn Miz into a face? Let's start by saying that he hasn't shown any glimpse of face features (that promo you're talking about you have to be out of your mind to think that was faceish. He was basically telling Daniel Bryan how much he sucked and how he needed to be more like him. Totally arrogant speech). His whole character is about being an arrogant guy who considers himself better than the crowd, and that character is still way to new to throw it to the garbage and turn Miz face, under any circunstance.

It's a just a hypothetical question...lol.

I think most people if asked a year ago if Orton would make a good face would have laughed and said you were crazy... the guy is on his way to perhaps ousting Cena as most overall liked guy in the company right now.

And yes, that's one vastly overlooked thing about Miz, his passion for the business. From his Real World days that's all we heard from the guy is his love for wrestling.

I assume you aimed that at me, as I was the person to say he can carry the company like Cena, well I was not involved with any sort of Internet forum two years ago, IWF was my first so I have not been fickle like you insinuate (just had to clear that one up).

I think you misunderstand, the idea was to make him use pretty much the same gimmick, just with a few tweaks, ala Orton. I saw a Rock face type character in him in that promo, it was just because of the way he was going mental, I found it to be like a comedy, cocky face type character. I was not out of my mind, I just thought it was face type, can't explain it any more or better than that.

I understand you, I just don't get you. There was no way that promo could have been more heelish, yet you saw it with face traits. That's what I'm saying.

I'm really curious on how you would keep his same character and make him a face. Let's be honest, Randy Orton is only a face because he's respected by the crowds now, but there's no way that character he had is meant to be a face. In fact, we have seen a little tweaks to it. Randy is now not looking to punt you in the head, but to just RKO you.

Miz character wouldn't work as a heel. Could Miz (the person) play a face? No doubt. But with the same character? Doubtful
