Berchelt successfully defended his WBC junior lightweight title against Jason Sosa, knocking him down in the 2nd and 4th rounds in what was a brutal beatdown. Berchelt himself showed very good defense in toe-to-toe exchanges, barely getting hit by Sosa's punches.

Ever since he defeated Francsisco Vargas for the title, he has made seven successful title defenses and only one fight has gone the distance: Against Takeshi Miura and it was one-sided. He has defended his title against elite competition. He has shown better defense than ESPN commentator Timothy Bradley has given him credit for.

Being a Boxing fan like you rarely do I not know a guy and this guy is escaping me. Maybe it's due to him still not being known the sport globally just yet, but when you're dominating for so long the only thing you can do if you want competition is move up. The greats from the lower class have moved up and then we will see how it handles himself I feel.

He used to fight on HBO but HBO canceled boxing last year. Berchelt now fights on ESPN so he doesn't get the exposure he once had.

Yeah HBO was a staple for Boxing for Decades that I grew up watching and it still makes me physically sick thinking about it gone from my life.
