Do you think Vince would allow Bischoff to turn Roman Reigns heel? He took wrestlings top babyface, Hulk Hogan, and turned him heel in the 90's, which is arguably the biggest moment in wrestling history. Hogan turning heel changed the industry and we still feel the effects today (especially how fans view heels and babyfaces).

Roman Reigns would have the perfect Babyface dancing partner, that be Kofi Kingston. You could even take it a step further and thet could book The New Day vs. Roman & The Usos. Which the Usos are super over, one of the best tag teams in wrestling, and have had show stealing matches with New Day.

So what do you think? Is this the right time to turn Roman into a heel? Is it too late now and should he stay babyface? Would Vince even allow it? How would a Roman heel turn effect Smackdown ratings? Could a storyline like that eclipse Raw in the ratings?

Well...at this point in time what else can they do with him?

He's basically won everything & been in 4 Wrestlemania
main events (3 of which were completely awful) as a
failed "babyface"

He can't main event pay per views anymore because the
crowds will just ignore the match & chant for someone else...
or leave...

They have basically had him pin nearly everyone on the roster...
& most of the active part timers as well...

They can't use the Shield anymore because Moxley got out
before the Titanic hit the iceberg...

I mean having Roman turn heel could work because he's always
looked & acted more like a heel than a face...but the crowds already
treat him like a heel anyway.

Turning Roman heel will just recontextualize (its a word!) the booing.

That's it.

Also if Roman turns heel but continues to pin everyone else...well...
it will just make all the face characters look like pathetic geeks &
won't help get anyone else over.

So basically if they turn Roman heel he will have to defeated 85%
of time for anyone to really benefit.

Do you really think they would do that?

I honestly think this attitude of "If Roman turned heel it would fix
everything!" makes no sense.

Honestly...Roman Reigns is not the problem...

The entire WWE is the problem.

Someone needs to press a giant reset button or burn the company
down to the ground so something fresh & new can grow from the
ashes.

That is the main problem I have with Roman, not just the fact that he has been a career face, but he has almost ZERO improved since The Shield... Same look, same ring gear, same move-set, same character, etc. Nothing has changed at all... I think Heyman or Bishoff could very well want to try and change that. But is Vince gonna allow them to? That is the question.

I think Roman has improved...I mean how could he not
with the amount of wrestling he's done & the TV time
he gets...but what you say is true. He hasn't changed
at all.

When the Shield first broke up Dean & Seth moved on...
new ring attire, new theme music & they changed & grew
as characters...but Roman has just been the same this
entire time.

That's why all those Shield reunions felt so forced...it was
like Dean & Seth had to stop whatever they were doing &
put on the SWAT gear again just so Roman could look
good again...because Roman was always being carried in
the Shield...& he still hasn't developed past being "The
Muscle of the Shield"

Hell...Carmella has gone through more changes & character
development in her time on the main roster than Roman has.

Just think about that for a second...

Let that sink in.

CARMELLA is a better developed character than Roman Reigns.

But is Vince gonna allow them to? That is the question.
Most likely the answer to that question is No.

Yeah, you are right. When I said he "ZERO improved" I meant more his character, not wrestling abilities. Even tho his move-set is still limited he got more experience.

I would never say Roman can't wrestle...his matches against Styles
should have proved to everyone out there that he can...he's just very
boring.

Hence the Plank of Wood nickname that I use.

Now if they took Roman & actually developed him as a character,
showed us something different or interesting about him...then that
would be cool to see.

He is essentially a big Samoan man who dresses in riot gear and
punches & tackles people. That is all there is to him...and its really
boring...especially when compared to past "Faces of the Company"

Just think about all the development guys like Shawn Michaels,
Bret Hart, Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Undertaker,
Kane...Hell look at how Mankind changed as a character over the
years...its actually kind of insane when you think about how much
Mick Foley was allowed to develop Mankind from his debut to his
final appearance with the mask.

Wrestling is all well & good...and its EXTREMELY important in my
opinion...but if the WWE wants to be "Sports Entertainment" &
wants their product to be more like a TV shows &movies...then
they need to have engaging characters to tell their stories with.

Roman Reigns isn't a character...

He's a Plank of Wood.

Dude Roman is not the top guy anymore. I don't think they'll have any issue turning him heel.

This is what im thinking. In order to get a babyface over, they need a great heel. Rollins has got Lesnar but Kofi doesn't really have anyone, at least not as big as Brock. Roman turning heel would be perfect to get Kofi over.

It's total apples and oranges but it reminds me of the Evolution push and that insanely stupid Bella's return when they were pushed as these amazing women's wrestling legends, then turned heel and used the same comical lines for heat. Roman being over the top with his current character works. Him being the same corporate heel most WWE main event heels are works. Him feuding with a Kofi DYING for a new opponent works.

That being said, I'm asking this for a company that can't figure out to just do the commercial between entrances ffs

Really? He's still on the pay per views poster & is going
over at nearly every event. Looks & sounds like a top guy
to me.

Although...thinking about it...

If the WWE really wanted to turn him heel...betraying
& attacking the Undertaker would be a great start.

Perhaps Roman could team up with the Authors of Pain &
form "The Shield 2.0" where they just go from show to show
destroying everyone? Hell...Roman wouldn't even need to
talk...he could just target the Universal & World Champions
to get his point across.

Or perhaps I'm thinking too much about this because I doubt
the Plank of Wood will ever truly turn heel.
