Wrestler reaction to A.W.’s firing by WWE on Friday for what a company spokesman said was due to his continued use of offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media after making a rape joke on the July 30 episode of Raw is said to be as negative to any termination in a long time.

Upon learning of the news, A.W. posted a barrage of Twitter messages roasting the sports-entertainment organization for what he perceives are double standards, such as Big Show making a similar remark referencing NBA player Kobe Bryant’s sexual assault case years ago and Vince McMahon reneging WWE’s anti-bullying campaign on Raw weeks ago by ridiculing Jim Ross’ affliction with Bell’s palsy. Though it would appear that he is squashing any chance of a return to the organization with each scathing tweet, Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer sees things otherwise.

He posted on the F4WOnline.com message board, “The more he says, the better his chances of being brought back in a while.

“Vince has no respect for people he bullies and don’t fight back.

“He hired Bischoff, Bret (spent ten years begging for him to comeback and even brought him back after Bret walked out on him the day of Mania), Sable, Billy Graham, yet never touched Heenan except for one shots. I doubt even he knows it but he’s playing it smart in the long run.”

If he gets rehired in months, thatll be when PTP get their title. Otherwise, probably Night of Champions.

Not really sure, could happen, but it'd probably take a while, at least after Linda's run fails once again I think.

U know there is a law for the work place that if you can PROVE that ur were fire for wrong reson you can get ur job back or sub the owner for lot money if not that. So there ashley is a change if it that Big Show said that same thing about Kobe then he can use that against Vince and file claim that Big Show did not fire for saying it but I can? So it COULD have been.

While there are laws like the ones Randy mentions in every State in the U.S., most attorneys agree that it's quite difficult to prove such workplace discrimination.

This is reminiscent, to me at least, of the firing of Daniel Bryan. What happened here is that someone got their nose out of joint over the Kobe joke and Vince felt like AW had to be fired. I have a sneaking suspicion that we might see him back in WWE before 90 days have passed, possibly by Night of Champions. It wouldn't surprise me if somebody backstage told AW to make a stink on Twitter over the firing, just to generate interest for when he returns.

I hope not. I mean, I already hated having to hear Cole and Vickie every week and then A.W with a mic was more annoying than both of them. Its just made me cringe. I love Titus O' neal and Darren Young though.
