I've seen a couple of users complain that upgrading is something they really want to do - but can not do for reasons out of their hands. So I scratched my head and came up with a solution - a posting competition.
I've installed a point system called "newpoints" which can be used for many things, but in this case it'll be a system used for one sole purpose - post as much as you can, lead poster (who is available for an upgrade/wants it) will be upgraded to Superstar (if not eligible for Legend) or Legend.
How does it work? Well it's as simple as I've put it. However, I'll go into more detail. I will set the point system up so you get more points for posting in wrestling related sections rather than sections like "Announcements", "The Ramp" and "Locker Room" as they don't help. You will get slightly more points for making a thread than you will for just posting (abuse will be sanctioned), and for using more characters in a post (for example, use 5 words you get X points, but use 30+ words and you get X + Y points).
The plugin comes automatically with a leaderboard so it will be obvious to see who wins on deadline day. The user at the top will be announced and he/she will be upgraded. "But Crayo, what if the user is already Legend?" - they will get a custom competition award that I will add soon.
The competition will start as soon as I filer out the bugs with the system, I might need to wait until Anonymous is on for that if I can't find it myself - but as soon as they're fixed the competition will start immediately. I will make another thread once it's launched with full information on how much points you earn for a specific task and how to see the leaderboard etc.
