Comedian Bernie Mac, age 50, dies in hospital

Comedian and actor Bernie Mac, who had been hospitalized for pneumonia, died Saturday at a Chicago area hospital, his spokeswoman said.

Publicist Danica Smith confirmed the death in a statement but gave no further details. "We ask that his family's privacy continues to be respected," she said.

Mac, 50, was reported to have been in stable condition on Thursday and his release from the hospital was expected in weeks. Smith had said Mac's bout with pneumonia was unrelated to his previous diagnosis of a chronic tissue inflammation, called sarcoidosis, which has been in remission since 2005.

Was a pretty funny guy I loved his show...man will be missed.

Yeah I seen it first on a bulletin on myspace and I thought u know one of them bulletins you just say R.I.P and put someone's name so I go and google his name and I see about and was like...dang man..pretty sad....Watched some videos on Youtube about it also..

Not really moved by this news. Never really paid any attention to the guy personally. I never watched the show, I think I saw him in the Ocean's movies. I think. But yeah, sucks for him.

Only thing I ever saw him in was a movie called 'Guess Who', I think. It was pretty decent. But as Monk said, not really that moved, as I didn't really know the guy well enough.
