Color - Emotion & Energy

I made this on another forum and people found it interesting. Most people don't know a thing as simple as color effects how we feel. So....Did you ever wonder "why" you may be drawn to a particular color? Colors that appeal to us have to do with energy and emotion. When you are drawn to a certain color, its either because you are longing for something or radiating it. So what does your favorite color say about you?


Red – Passion, love, lust, fast energy, danger, fear, angry, aggression, war
Orange - Energy, balance, warmth, enthusiasm, flamboyant, demanding of attention
Yellow – Happiness, joy, optimism, idealism, dishonesty, cowardice, deceit, illness, hazard
Green - Nature, natural energy, youth, wealth, vigor, jealousy, envy, misfortune
Blue - Peace, calm, stability, security, loyalty, cold, depression.
Purple - Royalty, spirituality, healing, wholeness, nobility, ceremony, mysterious, wisdom, enlightenment, cruelty, arrogance, mourning.
Pink - Good health, lightness, purity, pure love, innocence, sexuality, child-like, fear of losing innocence
White - Reverence, purity, simplicity, peace, humility, youth, good, heavenly, serenity, calm
Black - Power, sexuality, sophistication, formality, wealth, mystery, fear, evil, unhappiness, depth, sadness, remorse, anger, mourning

Name your favorite color and if its because your longing for something or radiating it.

And my favorite color is green and I'm all that except the last three things, I don't envy anything, not jealous of anything, and I don't believe I have any misfortune, I grew up in a good house hold, have a decent job, have great parents, good amount of siblings, and have a tremendous work ethnic. I have some fear, sadness, and mourning, so I guess I'm Dark green.

This is not so much about picking colors that suit you, its what it says about you, the colors you are drawn too. And the list is just the energy and emotions that follow with each color. Not all need to be applied. For instants... If a person is being drawn to purple and they are sick, chances are its because they are longing for healing.

This is something I like. A fantastic thread!

Had to pick both of them, never can choose. Both of the explanations fit me aswell. Pretty weird, but true.

Love the combination of "evil and anger" with "remorse and mourning" as well. Makes no sense on paper but really go together hand and hand... as well as the "sophistication, depth, and formality" leading to "sadness and fear".

Wouldn't say it all describes me perfectly but it does better than any other color. Nice find!
