UFC President Dana White has announced another intriguing matchup for September's "Battle on the Bayou" card in New Orleans.
"It will be a submission showdown as verbal agreements are in for a fight between lightweight grappling specialists Vagner Rocha and Cody McKenzie in New Orleans on September 17."
The 23-year-old McKenzie will be looking to rebound from the first loss of his career, which he suffered via submission at the hands of veteran Yves Edwards at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 in January. He was also a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 12 and knows a thing or two about guillotine chokes, picking up 10 of his twelve wins via that route. Rocha was a late replacement for Mac Danzig and stepped up to fight Donald Cerrone at UFC 131. He lost by decision. Rocha has also competed in Strikeforce and Bellator."It will be a submission showdown as verbal agreements are in for a fight between lightweight grappling specialists Vagner Rocha and Cody McKenzie in New Orleans on September 17."
