Ok if you saw Smackdown on Friday, you saw Cody Rhodes get a clean win over John Morrison. JOHN FUCKING MORRISON. A guy that has been rising up the ranks in the WWE for the past year or so. Did I mention the win was clean? Meanwhile on RAW, Ted Dibiase was the last man standing in the inter-promotional battle royal and has even set up a future feud with R-Truth. I'm liking what I'm seeing out of these guys especially since I was sure that they would fall off the radar after Orton destroyed them at Wrestlemania. However, these guys are making a name for themselves and I'm itching to see if this continues in the following weeks. Personally, I am a huge fan of Teddy. The guy has the look of a future champ and has the charisma to be too.

Thoughts?

Since when was beating John Morrison a major accomplishment? He's leaving the brand and Cody is coming to it. Nothing more than that. Cody has also pinned Triple H and Randy Orton... I think that's a slightly bigger deal than pinning Morrison.

I agree with MizMasta, Morrison just two weeks earlier defeated Jack Swagger (the WHC) cleanly. Cody didn't defeat Randy or HHH cleanly or even in a one on one match as I recall, this has to be his single biggest one on one win imo. Ted has been getting regular air time and defeating Rey in a Battle Royal, one of Rey's forteys. I can see Cody holding the IC title before the turn of the year and I can see Ted running with the MD title for quite a while.

lol @ busting a nut over a win over Morrison. He's a mid carder. Nothing more. Nothing less. Now if the win was over Morrison when he was picking up wins over Jericho, Punk (while he was champ), and Edge, then maybe it'd be a big deal. But Morrison has been floating around lately. He's leaving the brand, what he need the win for?

As far as DiBiase, who was in the battle royal? With the exception of Mysterio, a couple mid carders and a bunch of jobbers. Huge accomplish there.

Mind you he eliminated Mysterio to win in a close contest.

And again... these are the two guys who spent the better part of last year getting the better of Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Under the workings of Randy Orton the puppet master. They broke away from Orton (or the opposite) and they are still making names for themselves BYthemselves.

Shit totally forgot about the DX feud, I take everything I have said in this thread back, this is just a return to normality for the two.

Although a win over John Morrison isn't that much to brag about, it is surprising. Cody Rhodes was the weak link of Legacy the entire run of the stable. He gets punted at WrestleMania while Orton shoots up to main event and DiBiase gets a push with the Million Dollar belt. Alot of fans might have counted Rhodes out here, but I think a win over Morrison, one of SD's biggest faces for the past year, in his debut comeback match on SD caught alot of fans off guard.

Yeah, let's not pretend like beating John Morrison on a night when newly-Raw wrestlers were losing to newly-Smackdown wrestlers is a big deal. That said, the match was awesome, and Cody should be pushed. Hopefully he takes the IC Title and does something with it, which is possible, because he would actually be entertaining as a champion.

I see they moving Drew to main event status definitely by the end of the year so that could leave the IC title open to Rhodes. Besides the IC belt Cody has slim picking when it comes to elevating his career because he is literally starting over right now.

I like the idea of a push for both Ted and Cody, they're talented in and out of the ring and they have potential to be main eventers in the near future.
