One thing that made me chuckle was when Punk was looking up at The Rock (a man 3 times bigger than him physically, and ten times bigger than him wrestling/kayfabe wise) that he's "boxing with God"

:dawg:

And that he was going to "kick his ass" (he said it about 3 times)

Come on... Punk should not be allowed to say shit like that. When he said shit of that nature it snapped me out of my mark-like state and back to reality like "lmao, punk, gtfo you roody poo crackhead motherfucker"

CM Punk, quite easily too. Since I have yet to, I'm going to divulge my thoughts on the main event promo featured on the last Raw.

CM Punk's portion of this was awesome, and obviously, my favorite part of this. Punk's delivery was near perfect, I didn't even catch him stumble over any of his lines (not that he does it enough for me to consider it a big problem or anything, I've just noticed it several times in past promos) and the content was full of substance, truth, and plenty of returns of Punk. For example, highlighting under-utilized wrestlers and even something as relatively simple as calling himself a "bad guy" (well, it jumped from calling himself a bit of a jerk to bad guy, but the notion is the same). I'm not trying to relay that the promo only worked because it brought back some memories, just simply that this was Punk really returning to form for me. I've previously discussed my problems with heel Punk on the mic, but I also pointed out that when he hit the mark as a heel, he really hits it. And while it did focus on some previous characteristics, the whole of it came off as a new character. It's one of those things I really like about Punk, usually his character doesn't change much from the previous character when he undergoes a change whether it be a heel/face turn or just a new direction in the character. But despite normally bringing over several characteristics, it feels like a new character. Again, even without much previous knowledge of Punk, this promo is still incredible. And the, "Your arms are too short box with God" was definitely line of the night for me.

Oh, before I get to the Rock, I want to dedicate this little section to bitching about King. Here's the thing, no matter what the case is, during the main event promos, those on commentary should shut the heel up! King suddenly talking over Punk didn't add anything from the piece, it disrupted from it. It's amazing how every-time WWE does something that actually garners my interest to watch, I find myself frustrated by King. It's not a big deal really, but it irritated me enough to warrant a mini-rant.

As for The Rock's portion. When I said Punk's deliver was "near perfect" it's not really because I found any kind of flaw with his delivery but it's because, with the exception of a few lines, I don't think he matched the standard of perfect when it comes to delivery in wrestling promos. The Rock is pretty much that standard, his delivery was perfect here. So, why do I prefer Punk's promo? Well, you can deliver crap wrapped in gold but you're still delivering crap. Luckily though, this wasn't a constant thing, I was pleasantly surprised by half the content and lack of catchphrases. However, I'm not going to focus on the good half because honestly I don't feel like gushing over a promo (anymore than I might have already done) so I'm going to focus on the negatives, the face-palm worthy portions. For starters, the cookie puss stuff. Granted I got a chuckle during his naked bit but the first time it was used was extremely lame and I was trying to will the bit to go by faster. Which speaking of that naked bit, talk about a really drawn out, almost entirely boring bit of the segment. Also, he says he looks like Pop-eye on crack, or something involving crack and Pop-eye. Does The Rock know what Pop-eye even looks like? Immature insults in wrestling like that can be fine but to me that need to be with a grain of truth and Punk looks absolutely nothing like Pop-eye. It didn't matter how well he "toot toot"-ed, because I was rolling my eyes. Without that grain of truth, you just kind of come off as an idiot. It'd be like if Rock called Cena fruity pebbles and Cena only wore black throughout all his career. Finally, and one with more value, Rock telling Punk that "the voiceless" don't exist considering how vocal WWE fans are. When Punk first dubbed himself that, he wasn't even referring to the WWE fans, he was referring to people that couldn't due to being fired. Yeah, yeah, not that it doesn't eventually extend to the fans, but it wasn't at first and never was completely about them. So Rock's put-down there, doesn't really work if you actually bother to remember the nickname's origins.

All those negatives out of the way, I'm just going state that I did enjoy Rock's side of the promo (can't stress that enough) and I'm not trying to imply it was a terrible promo. It was really great, and definitely my favorite of his post-return. However, I have several problems with his promo. And not that any of them were huge deals, the worst it got was a moderate problem. Even though I specified "half", the good "half" is really like three-fourths of it, probably more. But those problems, regardless of how insignificant they are to others, and even to some regards myself, they are enough for me to put Punk ahead this round and by quite a lot too.

I normally don't find amusement from Rock's childish/cheesy insults either. And I also agree on King, but from what I know he just doesn't care anymore and is doing it for the money, so I for one don't really expect any improvement.

The fans. They had two awesome guys giving them an awesome KAYFABE promo and playing awesome story. Of course Rock can outshine anybody on the mic, he's the best ever behind Piper and SCSA.
