CM Punk was recently interviewed by The Soscia Network Radio Show out of Philadelphia, ahead of last Sunday's Hell In A Cell pay-per-view. During the interview, Punk discussed who he'd rather face at WrestleMania; The Rock or Steve Austin?
"I think CM Punk vs. Steve Austin is a bigger match," Punk admitted.

That's debatable, but they would try to make Punk-Austin a bigger deal because it's the match that would/will be at a Wrestlemania, whereas Punk-Rock will be at the Rumble. But the fact that I can see WWE doing Austin-Punk at WM but can't see them putting a big mainstream star like Rock with Punk at a WM shows to me that WWE probably sees Rock as the bigger star at this point.

Although Punk vs. Austin will never happen for obvious reasons. I am going with that matchup. Austin's persona of beer drinking and what not would be a great dicotomy against that of punk's.

Yeah, Punk's and Austin's gimmicks match pretty well, it'd be a nice match.

How can anyone dispute this? A lot of factors go into it. The gimmicks of straight edge vs drunk redneck are perfect. The feud sells itself. Rock has been back for nearly 2 years now, wrestled a couple of times, and while it's still nice to see him back, the allure of OMG ROCK'S BACK isn't there, at least not to the degree it was. On the flip side, that is exactly what we get with Austin. Idk the last time he wrestled and don't care to look it up, but it's surely been 6 or 7 years?

Most defiantly agree with him. CM Punk vs Austin is way bigger than a Punk vs The Rock match. Punk vs Austin would be way more entertaining to watch than him competing against The Rock.

Only the promos would be better with Austin/Punk. And even then, I'm not sure. Punk/Rock would probably end up as the better match overall.

Punk's opinion of himself gets more outlandish by the passing day. The only thing worse than CM Punk talking about himself is Kevin Federline talking about himself.

How awesome is the 'E' now? No matter how corporate they've become a raggedy, dingy, delusional prick can be WWE champion... for a year no less. Keep rollling it, Vince.
