During a new interview conducted for InkedMag.com, WWE Champion CM Punk spoke on a number of topics, and had the following to say when asked what fueled his big angle last July that began with his infamous Raw promo:

Pure boredom. That and my belief that I have my fingers on the pulse of what our audience wants way more than management. I think that it's important for me and for any other Superstar that works for the company to be in the public eye, to be out there, to be considered celebrities. TMZ sees me on the street now and they want to ask stupid questions like they would with some phony like Tom Cruise. We're on television and we seem to have this one niche audience, and I want to expand way beyond that.

Lmao, this is why I like Punk, so outspoken and just doesn't care. He's right in every way.

in other words, we cater to kids and I want to make this shit not awful for everyone else, and for a couple of months it wasn't.

I almost met Punk so many times. He's so different and will do anything to stay that way. We had similar social circles, similar to a guy in high school who grows up to be a rock star. :)

Really? Did you meet him as a fan, or really in person?

hmm. well, he grew up in the same town I did. i may have seen him w/o knowing him, cuz he would have been just another guy. i never met him, but may have seen him shopping or at a grocer, if that makes any sense. i could meet him today and tell him so and would care less.
