“I think I’m greatly misunderstood. I always love the fans, I’m very vocal about the bad ones though, so I think those are the stories that people tend to harp on. I spent I don’t know how much money buying 20,000 ice cream bars for the fans in Chicago, so…”

When asked what the biggest misconception about him is:

“That I’m a cancer or whatever certain people in your line of work have tried to say about me. I think that’s just foolish.”

Surprises for future Chicago shows:

“More surprises in store if you plan to attend any shows in Chicago in the near future, wink wink, nudge nudge."

like honestly all I would need would be a "I could have handled a few things better" , not even an apology and I could at least accept he has moved on and learned something. The way he spoke in this interview shows me he has learned nothing and has done zero growth. He is talking the way about AEW EXACTLY how he used to talk about WWE. which to me is a pattern, and its gonna be the same shit whenever he leaves or retires because someone will inevitably rub him the wrong way and he will have a fit

I think people push back on "exactly" bc he was arguably harsher on WWE, but I think it is the exact same logic involved. For WWE he was calling out the Saudi stuff, really going in on their morals, he hasn't done that with AEW, he's only went at the business acumine of Tony mostly but repeatedly calling him a nice guy almost as a negative.

But the thing is, those are exactly the things he needed to say to get the people he wanted to rally towards him lol the hardcore WWE haters slurped up that blood money covered dick line like crazy, and likewise, all the AEW haters just say "profit profit profit Tony can't make money...etc" lol

u right, he is the poster boy for tribalism and toxicity and knows how to fuel it. makes me wonder if he actually doesn't give a shit about queer and trans rights or workers rights, he just says those things to piss off the opposite mindset.

fwiw I was more speaking of the scorched earth and " I did nothing wrong, i was a victim and people iw as a dick to deserved it" attitude which seems prevalent on his feelings towards wwe for a long time (just different grievances)
