Clint Hester vs. Andy Enz added to February’s UFC 169 event in New Jersey
A middleweight matchup is the latest addition to February’s UFC 169 event, as Clint Hester (9-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) faces Andy Enz (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
The matchup of “The Ultimate Fighter 17†cast members was first reported by FOXSports.com and was subsequently confirmed by UFC officials.
Featuring a pair of championship matches in the headlining slots, UFC 169 takes place Feb. 1 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view.
The evening’s preliminary card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1. The night’s bout order has yet to be revealed.
Hester fought under UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones on “The Ultimate Fighter 17,†but after earning his way into the house, he was eliminated in the next round of the tournament by Jimmy Quinlan. However, like every member of the “TUF 17†cast, Hester was still given an official UFC fight and has since made the best of his opportunity with knockout wins over Bristol Marunde and Dylan Andrews.
Meanwhile, Enz was eliminated from “TUF 17†before ever making into the official tournament, as he suffered a decision loss at the hands of eventual finalist Uriah Hall. However, since that brief experience, Enz has since reeled off three first-round submission wins, the longest of which took just 73 seconds.
With the addition to the card, UFC 169 now includes:
Champ Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas – for featherweight title
Dominick Cruz vs. Renan Barao – bantamweight title unification bout
