Two Championship Matches Signed For Seize The Day V

November 28, 2011

For the past four years, Seize The Day has become an evening where champions are crowned, lives are changed, and memories are created. Not only the anniversary event of our company, but the kickstart of the new year and season of CLASH Wrestling, Seize The Day is an event not to miss and this year shall be no exception! On January 21st, CLASH will present our fifth installment of Seize The Day and we are happy to announce the first two signed matches!

std5match1.jpg

If you were at Divided We Fall on November 19th, then Seize The Day’s CLASH Championship Match should be of no surprise to you. In the main event of the evening, CLASH Champion Gavin Quinn will battle not only former champion the “Murderous Monk” J. Miller, but without question his toughest challenge to date, “Maple Leaf Muscle” Petey Williams! All three of these men have been on a collision course with one another since August of this year. What will happen when these three battle in the first ever Triple Threat CLASH Championship Match in Seize The Day history?

std5match2.jpg

With the CLASH Championship being defended in a Triple Threat Match, CLASH management has decided that the CLASH Tag Team Championship will be contested under the exact same circumstances. Thus, on January 21st, the CLASH Tag Team Champions of Too Sweet will defend their gold against the former champions The H3RD and the demonic duo of the Painkillers! Never in CLASH history has the Tag Team titles been defended in a Triple Threat Match, but that will change at Seize The Day V!

So there you have it! The first two Seize The Day V matches have been signed and all the gold in CLASH Wrestling is on the line! Two championship matches, both contested under Triple Threat rules. Which competitors will walk out of our anniversary event with the gold around they’re waists? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for our first event of 2012: SEIZE THE DAY V on JANUARY 21ST! Tickets are available, now, click here to get yours today!

Colt Cabana vs. Zach Gowen Signed For Seize The Day V

December 5, 2011

Last week, we learned of the first two matches signed for Seize The Day V on January 21st in which both the CLASH & Tag Team Championships will be defended in Triple Threat contests. Today, we are happy to announce another signed bout which pits two of the most entertaining personalities in the world of independent wrestling against one another!

Fans of CLASH Wrestling are no stranger to Zach Gowen. Dubbed the “One Legged Wonder,” Gowen is as charismatic and inspiring as they come. At Seize The Day V, Gowen will face a man making his CLASH Wrestling debut, the highly entertaining Colt Cabana!

These two men are no stranger to one another, having spent a decade on the same roads in their professional careers. What will happen when these two friends square off? One must think that each has alot to prove, not only to themselves, but to each other as well! Who will walk out of Seize The Day V victorious? Colt Cabana or Zach Gowen? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for our first event of 2012: SEIZE THE DAY V on JANUARY 21ST! Tickets are available, now, click here to get yours today!

CLASH Competitor Announces Retirement

December 16, 2011

BREAKING NEWS: Within the last 24 hours, CLASH competitor “Amazing” N8 Mattson announced his immediate retirement from professional wrestling. While CLASH fans may be most familiar with Mattson’s work over the past year including his partnership with Cameron Skyy & Mena Libra, “Amazing” N8 leaves behind a storied 15 year career. One must wonder how this will effect Seize The Day V on January 21st. Both CLASH Management and fans were aware of the importance “Amazing” N8 placed on making his debut at CLASH’s Anniversary event. Further, how will this effect Mattson’s recent tag team partner Cameron Skyy? We hope to answer these questions live at Seize The Day V on January 21st, until then read “Amazing” N8 Mattson’s heartfelt retirement blog below:

That’s All Folks!

As I type this out with one hand, I feel the time has come to take a powder from my favorite past-time, Professional Wrestling. My match on Friday December 9th, 2011 against Kid Hybrid will go down as my very last match ever. Even though I was able to secure the win and finish the match with a broken hand, little did I know that I would be calling it quits until this week.

With every injury comes reflection. I think back on all the hard work I’ve put into this over the last 15 years. I look at all the unique personalities I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made. I see all the opportunities I’ve been given, and even those that I’ve missed. In my head I recall the cheers, the boos, the silence (LOL) and to me, the good outweighs the bad.

It’s not that this most recent injury is career-ending, it’s the fact that I’ve had a number of nagging injuries pile up on me. When I was 19 years old, I was a rubber ball, able to bounce around the ring all day. Now nearing 35, my neck, back, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles and now hand have taken extreme punishment from the rigors of the ring.

This past year has been way too good for me professionally. My favorite matches of late have been some of the best in my career, namely the 3-Way Dance with Zach Gowen & Alex Shelley, my singles matches with Chance Prophet, Jimmy Jacobs, Hybrid and of course the War Machine Rhino. The match I had with Jason Bane at the JT Lightning Memorial show will always be a highlight for me personally as well.

First and foremost, I have to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me the ability and talent to even step through those ropes. I thank my wife Shelly for her support while I was pursuing my life-long dream. I don’t know where I’d be without the support system of my close family and friends.

There are waaaaaay too many people to thank here, but I’ll try. I’ll start with Coach Scott D’Amore, “Irish” Mickey Doyle and Doug “Canadian Destroyer” Chevalier, my trainers at the Can-Am Wrestling School. They molded me into the wrestler I became. I absolutely must thank “Hard Time” Gene Austin, JT Lightning and Dave “Bobby Lee” St. Onge for building my confidence as a young man with big dreams.

Along the way I’ve had the privilege of knowing a cast of characters that I call friends. Guys like Gutter (World’s Worst Tag Team), DBA & the Monroe family (XICW), Jumpin’ Jimmy Jacobs, Zach Gowen, Rhino, Eddie Venom, Jaimy CoxXx, “Death Dealer” Tommy Starr, Bobby Numbers, Breyer Wellington, Bobby Clancy, Mike Kelly, Benjamin Boone (Sons of Michigan), Josh Prohibition, Matt Cross, Jason Bane, Bryan Castle, Greg Iron, Johnny Gargano, Wally & Joe Dombrowski (PWO), Josh Movado & Bubba Mackenzie (IWR/Revolucha), Jeffrey Scott Kavanaugh (Border City Wrestling), Preacher, Brooks, Hybrid, T-D, Monty Brown, Manny, Ric Davies, Pete Christie, Brian Maday (UCW), Colt Cabana, Dan Severn (POG), AT Huck, Jim Hall & Dod March (Marquee/MMWA), Bubba Luscious (Metro Pro), Big Tom (WAR), Dave Martin (PTW), Blue Meanie (3PW), Steve Corino (World-1), Cameron Skyy, Tommy Treznik (CLASH), Phil Monahan (CIW), AJ Styles, George South, Jimi V, Danny Daniels (AAW), Chris Sabin, CK3, BRIAN GORIE and the greatest tag team partner a guy could ever have as the Michigan Invasion, Truth Martini!

A big thank you goes out to WWE, TNA (thank you Jeff Jarrett, Bill Behrens, D’Lo Brown & Jeremy Borash for your kindness), ROH (thank you Jim Cornette for knowing who Amazing N8 is!), OVW (Rip Rogers & Rob Conway), NWA and Dale Gagner’s AWA. Along the way I’ve wrestled legends and world champions, was a Druid at WRESTLEMANIA 23, been seen on TV (Man v. Food, MTV Made) and even featured in a music video. I have met all my heroes including Bret Hart, Shawn Micheals, Ric Flair, Sting, Ricky Steamboat, Nick Bockwinkel and the list goes on.

I know I’m forgetting people, I just want you all to know how much I love you. For every promoter that liked my old school work, for every fan that chanted “Detroit Sucks” or “We H8 N8″, for all the Boys that I’ve had the honor of working with, you are the Amazing Ones. I’m just little ole’ N8, who spent 15 years of my adult life as a Professional Wrestler. How kool is that?

What’s next, you ask? I have been offered a position with PWO Wrestling as a backstage agent and to assist with TV production. CLASH Wrestling has asked me to help out with DVD commentary and stick around as a mentor-type. Metro Pro Wrestling will also be requiring my services also. My in-ring days are over, but I still have much to contribute. I have worked in front of 10 people, as well as 10,000 people. I enjoyed every second of it and I hope you did too. God bless you all, until we meet again.

Peace,
N8 Mattson

Greed vs. Manzo Rematch Signed For Seize The Day V

December 19, 2011

Keeping with the tradition of announcing a new Seize The Day V match every Monday, we at CLASHWRESTLING.COM have learned of the latest addition to our Anniversary event on January 21st! Just last week we announced the colossal confrontation between Tyler Elkins & the Wreckingball that will be contested under No Disqualification, No Count Out Rules! This week’s match is equally heated as “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo squares off with the accomplice of CLASH CEO Truth Martini, Dragon Greed!

Greed & Manzo have been at each other’s throats since August this year. Greed viciously powerbombed Manzo at CLASH Wrestling 100 as a sign of loyalty to Truth Martini. One month later at All Out War!, Manzo cost Greed his best chance at becoming #1 Contender. Then at November’s Divided We Fall, Manzo pinned Greed in their singles contest, infruiating the former CLASH Champion. Later that evening, Greed cost Manzo his spot in the Eliminator Series Final.

At Seize The Day V, Greed & Manzo will square off in a huge rematch! Which competitor can defeat his rival at CLASH Wrestling’s Anniversary event? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for our first event of 2012: SEIZE THE DAY V on JANUARY 21ST! Tickets are available, now, click here to get yours today!

Re: CLASH Wrestling: Seize The Day V, 1/21 Taylor MI - Quinn/Petey/Miller, Colt Caban

A special year end review went up today, posted below -

Source: clashwrestling.com

CLASH Wrestling: 2011 Year In Review

December 30, 2011

What a year for CLASH Wrestling, huh? From a company standpoint, CLASH Wrestling saw some of the biggest crowds walk through our doors in 2011 than in any year showing proof that the CLASH revolution is growing in numbers. We presented fun times, had entertaining special guests, celebrated milestone events, and proved why CLASH is Michigan’s upgrade to your Independent Wrestling experience! Let’s take a closer look at just what 2011 brought us –

CLASH WRESTLING MVP – CLASH CHAMPIONSHIP REIGN OF GAVIN QUINN CONTINUES ON
At this point, there are no doubts that current CLASH Champion, “GQ” Gavin Quinn was an MVP player in 2011. His impressive title reign now extends over a year (longer than any other CLASH Champion) with several marquee name talent under his belt. The likes of Mena Libra, Cameron Skyy, X-Pac, Petey Williams, Jimmy Jacobs, “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo, and the Wreckingball have fallen prey to Quinn’s impeccable winning streak. Year 2012 is on its way and Gavin Quinn has possibly his most challenging bout to date as we’ll see Triple Threat action as he defends against Petey Williams and “Murderous Monk” J. Miller on January 21st, 2012!

MOTY (MATCH OF THE YEAR) CANDIDATES
Of the many entertaining attractions hosted by CLASH Wrestling in 2011, there are several MOTY candidates to speak of. Let’s bullet point them for you to recall:

- “Mad Scientist” Tommy Treznik vs. “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo (Antidote Ladder Match)
CLASH fans may recall the struggle over a super strength elixir concocted by Treznik gone wrong when Dave Manzo took a sip. At the time, “SuperMANzo” as some were calling him experienced super natural strength during in-ring competition that concluded at Seize The Day IV on 1/29/11. Treznik ascended a ladder claiming an antidote thus forcing Manzo back to normal strength.

- “GQ” Gavin Quinn (c) vs. Petey Williams (Non-Title)
On February 26, 2011, CLASH Wrestling’s new concept event, Contenders Cup saw an opening match that may claim #1 of the MOTY list. In non-title competition, Gavin Quinn managed to defeat Petey Williams via pinfall in the first of their two bouts that year.

- Cameron Skyy vs. Dave Manzo vs. Mena Libra vs. Sharkboy vs. Tommy Treznik vs. Tyler Elkins
As part of the “Contenders Cup” event, the point was to crown a #1 contender with six of CLASH Wrestling’s biggest household names. At the time tension was reaching a boiling point between Skyy and Elkins meanwhile Treznik and Manzo had just had an epic ladder match the month before. It was “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo to walk out and challenge Quinn the following month.

- H3RD vs. Too Sweet (100)
At CLASH Wrestling’s 100th milestone event, the CLASH faithful witnessed a helluva Tag Team contest as Tommy Treznik’s H3RD w/ Ded Vaughn defended the Tag Team gold against Too Sweet (Bryce Benjamin & Joey Marx) who’ve been on a hot streak since their debut in July 2010. It was a celebratory night for those in attendance when Too Sweet claimed the victory with their 2nd title reign.

- Gavin Quinn (c) vs. Petey Williams (100)
Another classic encounter, this time with the gold on the line in front of CLASH Wrestling’s biggest attendance of the year. The 100th milestone event featured a superb main event as Quinn once again retained but brought about the surprising return of J.Miller to silence the champ with a “Goodbye Tooth” kick to cap off the show.

- “Sin City Sparklin” Cameron Skyy vs. “Caveman” Tyler Elkins (Cage Match)
Your classic good friends now bitter enemies story; this odd friendship pairing of the Vegas Man and Caveman fell apart the close of 2010 when Elkins cost Skyy the championship Quinn now holds. A back-n-forth feud that lasted nearly a year concluded in a victory for the “Caveman” in CLASH Wrestling’s first ever Steel Cage encounter on 9/3/11.

- Petey Williams vs. J.Miller
Most certainly, this match was a proving ground that J.Miller hadn’t lost a step since returning from a severe leg injury. Petey Williams took the win on 10/22/11 over the “Murderous Monk” with interference by Gavin Quinn. However, this match got us one inch closer to the reason we’ll see these three tango at SEIZE THE DAY V on January 21st, 2012!

MARQUEE MOMENTS
Not only did CLASH showcase some memorable bouts, but even a ton of marquee moments that won’t go forgotten. From start to end, here were some of CLASH Wrestling’s biggest moments:
1. Mena Libra finally defeats CEO Truth Martini in a singles match that culminated a year long rivalry at Seize The Day IV.
2. Impressive debuts of mainstays “Amazing” N8 Mattson and VH1’s Jenny (Rock of Love).
3. Wreckingball is terminated from his CLASH contract only to continue purchasing a ticket as a fan catapulting him to an overwhelming popularity. Lead to an “All Out War” rumble win, a championship match, and now an non-sanctioned bout at Seize The Day V.
4. CLASH hits its milestone 100th event this past August drawing 850+ in attendance.
5. J. Miller returns from a year-long injury.
6. Dragon Kreed changes his name to Dragon Greed, now with new found power from CEO Truth Martini.
7. CLASH Wrestling’s first ever Steel Cage match Is contested between Cameron Skyy & “Caveman” Tyler Elkins.
8. CLASH introduces a new concept match entitled the “Eliminator Series” giving us the outcome of J. Miller vs. Petey Williams vs. Gavin Quinn (c) for Seize The Day V.

We’re sure you can think of many more that we may have left out!

TAG TEAM EXPANSION
Over the course of the year, CLASH Wrestling has begun reintroducing Tag Team competition as a focal point again. Many can recall past battles between teams such as “The Friends” and a version of “H3RD.” In 2011, CLASH has reinforced the division with a breath of fresh air with teams that included: Too Sweet (c), Bump N’ Uglies, Victorious Secret, The Painkillers, H3RD, and Cameron Skyy & “Amazing” N8 Mattson. 2012 brings us a new year and new competition that will flood the CLASH gates, be prepared for some of the best Tag Team wrestling in the state!

SPECIAL GUESTS
CLASH works hard in bringing you a unique collection of entertaining personalities from wrestling’s past, present and future. Throughout 2011, CLASH fans saw names synonymous to wrestling from television appear such as X-Pac, Shark Boy, VH1’s Jenny (Rock Of Love 3), Simon Dean, Jimmy Wang Yang, Rhyno, & Kevin Thorn. Who knows what 2012 brings us, but we can assure you this ride is going to get bigger and better!

It’s always tough to wrap up a year in one article as there are many moments we may have missed touching on. However, we’d like to end this with a big THANK YOU to everyone that has supported CLASH. We promise to continue to upgrade the Michigan Independent Wrestling experience year after year!

GAVIN QUINN (c) vs. PETEY WILLIAMS vs. J.MILLER (CLASH CHAMPIONSHIP MAIN EVENT)
In what’s hyped to be a 2012 “Match Of The Year†candidate already, this main event sells itself. The year-long championship reign of “GQ†Gavin Quinn is put to the test against rivals Petey Williams and J.Miller in a bout that will be contested in Triple Threat rules. Quinn and Williams are no stranger to one another having two intense matches in 2011, both Quinn walked out victorious. Insert former CLASH Champion, J. Miller who has silenced the champ with a “Goodbye Tooth†at 100, however we have yet to see Miller and Quinn go at it in one on one action. After months of these three intertwined in matches with one another and the surprising conclusion of the Divided We Fall “Eliminator Series†final; there’s no doubt that these three competitors are the rightful headlining contenders to close out SEIZE THE DAY V!

TOO SWEET (c) vs. H3RD vs. THE PAINKILLERS (CLASH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP)
Both of CLASH Wrestling’s prized championships for the first time will be contested under Triple Threat rules. What better collaboration of Tag Team talent than the red hot Too Sweet (Bryce Benjamin & Joey Marx) (c), H3RD (“Mad Scientist†Tommy Treznik & Ded Vaughn), and The Painkillers (Donnie & Jacob Hallows) competing for tag supremacy. There’s no question that Too Sweet and H3RD alone have had their epic battles exchanging the gold from one another. Now, insert the former H3RD members of The Painkillers. Will there be any allegiance between H3RD and the Painkillers? Is it every team for themselves? Find out this Saturday night!

COLT CABANA vs. ZACH GOWEN
This special attraction will be one for the independent ages. Both are former WWE superstars and notable through the Independent circuit for their contributions to Professional Wrestling. “Boom Boom†Colt Cabana makes his CLASH debut against Michigan’s own “One Legged Wonder†Zach Gowen which will surely be a treat this Saturday in Taylor, MI!

“CAVEMAN†TYLER ELKINS vs. WRECKINGBALL (NO COUNTOUTS, NO DISQUALIFICATION)
Hey folks, technically this one is off the grid. If we all recall, Randy “Wreckingball†Casey is no longer contracted by CLASH Wrestling to perform since being terminated by CEO Truth Martini early last year. His drive to get his job back is evident with his attendance to every live event paying the ticket price. Additionally, the Wreckingball as those knew him by has dropped a considerable amount of weight (200+ lbs.) and even won the opportunity to compete against Gavin Quinn (c) this past fall when he was awarded a Golden Ticket entry to All Out War! and won. Needless to say, his reoccurring appearances at all our live events has been an inspirational journey of a man who is focused and determined to get his foot back in the door, here at CLASH.

His biggest roadblocks however are the CEO’s protégé Dragon Greed and new rival “Caveman†Tyler Elkins whom has tried to have the Wreckingball banned from purchasing a ticket. Dragon Greed has granted Elkins his wish in getting a non-sanctioned bout with Wreckingball at Seize The Day V to abolish him completely. Who will be victorious?? Find out this Saturday Night!

JIMMY WANG YANG vs. “ACE HIGH†CAMERON SKYY
In another huge special attraction, Former WWE Star Jimmy Wang Yang makes his CLASH return to battle “Ace High†Cameron Skyy! Cameron Skyy is the only man in CLASH Wrestling history to have captured the CLASH Championship on more than 1 occasion (he’s actually a three time former champion) who’s career is at a crossroads following the impromptu retirement of his partner & mentor “Amazing†N8 Mattson. One must think that both Yang and Skyy have a lot to prove, not only to themselves, but to one another as well! Who’s walking out with the win? The Fun Loving Cowboy or Sin City Sparklin’? Only one way to find out, and that’s by joining us for SEIZE THE DAY V!

“SWAGG STARR†DAVE MANZO vs. DRAGON GREED
This one has grudge written all over it. In August, CEO Truth Martini appeared to be offering Dave Manzo the job of a lifetime; to be the CEO’s assistant. When Martini was turned down, Dragon Greed (who had been terminated earlier that year) accepted followed by a devastating powerbomb to the “Swagg Starr.†Since then, these two have been back and forth. Manzo successfully pinned Greed at Divided We Fall in November to advance in the “Eliminator Series†however Greed got the last laugh interfering and causing Manzo to be eliminated. This is the rematch with Greed looking to redeem his loss and Manzo looking to redeem Greed’s assault. It all goes down this Saturday Night!

“AMAZING†N8 MATTSON SAYS FAREWELL
While CLASH fans may be most familiar with Mattson’s work over the past year including his partnership with Cameron Skyy & Mena Libra, “Amazing†N8 leaves behind a storied 15 year career. “Amazing†N8 plans to address all of CLASH Wrestling one final time, live at Seize The Day V on January 21st! What does N8 have to say? What are his plans for the future? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for our first event of 2012: SEIZE THE DAY V on JANUARY 21ST!

WE’RE NOT DONE YET…ALSO FEATURING:
We’ve got other talent in the house such as Mena Libra, William J. O’Malley, Mason Conrad, Austin Manix & more!

Re: CLASH Wrestling: Seize The Day V, 1/21 Taylor MI - Quinn/Petey/Miller, Colt Caban

Hey all, here were the results from this past weekend's SEIZE THE DAY V event -

Source: clashwrestling.com

Event Results From Seize The Day V (01/21/12)

January 22, 2012

Hey all, super big thanks to everyone that made it out to our Anniversary Event, SEIZE THE DAY V! It was a solid show from top to bottom and the party was non-stop with our post-show celebration at Big League Brews in Taylor, MI! CLASH Wrestling is back full-force for its 2012 season and returns to action on Saturday, February 25th for the CONTENDERS CUP! Details forthcoming…

RESULTS (01/21/2012):

**Colt Cabana vs. Zach Gowen turned into a No Contest when The Painkillers (Donnie & Jacob Hallows) interjected themselves thus turning the bout into a Tag Team match.

* Colt Cabana & Zach Gowen def. The Painkillers via pinfall.

** On the CLASHOTRON, the H3RD (Tommy Treznik & Ded Vaughn) were shown discussing their upcoming Tag Team match. Treznik had an elixir to help restore Vaughn to his previous form (which was even more monstrous before) to aid them in winning tonight’s contest. As they walked away, William J. O’Malley picked up what was left, and drank the rest of the elixir.

** Dragon Greed announced that with the CEO powers instilled in him by CEO Truth Martini, he’d like to add an impartial referee to his match of Austin Manix.

* Dragon Greed def. “Swagg Starr†Dave Manzo via pinfall w/ Austin Manix as the Special Referee.

* Wreckingball def. “Caveman†Tyler Elkins via pinfall after putting him through a table in a Non-Sanctioned bout.

** On the CLASHOTRON, Dragon Greed informed The Painkillers that because they chose to interject themselves into a match earlier with Cabana & Gowen; they will be removed from the Tag Team Championship contest later that night.

* “Amazing†N8 Mattson made his way out to the ring and delivered a farewell address as he leaves behind 15 years as an in-ring competitor throughout the Midwest. Mattson will continue to work for CLASH Wrestling in a non-wrestling capacity with more news forthcoming. Amidst his heartfelt speech, he attempted to say goodbye to the folks in CLASH he had been associated with over the last year – Mena Libra & Cameron Skyy. However, Cameron Skyy interrupted Mattson explaining that the “passing of the torch†he was attempting was extinguished like his career. Skyy continued to place blame on Mattson for this losing streak and was happy to see him go. More info on Skyy’s radical behavior as we get it…

* H3RD def. Too Sweet (Bryce Benjamin & Joey Marx) to become the new CLASH Tag Team Champions.

* Mena Libra & Will Vendetta (formerly William J. O’Malley, but drinking the elixir reverted him back to his former persona) def. “American Nightmare†Hakim Zane & Mason Conrad via pinfall.

* “Ace High†Cameron Skyy def. Jimmy Wang Yang via pinfall.

* Petey Williams def. “GQ†Gavin Quinn & J. Miller when Petey pinned Quinn to become the new CLASH Heavyweight Champion.
