this is taken from WWE.com:

It didn’t take Christian long to complete his comeback. After being away from WWE for more than three years, Captain Charisma returned in February and, one month later, is ready to make waves at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

On March 10, the ECW Superstar won a Tri-Branded 16-Man Battle Royal to qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match where he will compete with seven other participants to earn the championship opportunity of his choosing.

“I’ve been in so many Ladder Matches, it feels like second nature to me,â€￾ Christian told WWE.com. “I feel like I’m one of the guys who put this match on the map.â€￾

The returning Superstar quite literally helped to make the contest what it is, taking part in the first-ever Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 21. For most of his career, ladders have been a specialty of his, helping Christian to gain notoriety as a fearless personality when it comes to this type of stipulation. In fact, Christian obtained his first-ever WWE Tag Team Championship along with Edge by winning a Triple Threat Ladder Match at WrestleMania 2000.

“Sometimes afterward, you realize something bad really can happen,â€￾ Christian admitted. “But when you’re out there and the adrenaline is pumping and the crowd’s going crazy, you don’t think about it. Instinct takes over.â€￾

Despite his trademark fearlessness, a Money in the Bank Ladder Match victory is something that has eluded him. Still, that only makes Captain Charisma more dangerous, as the epitome of a man who puts his desire before his personal well-being.

During a Steel Cage Match in 2004, Christian suffered a lower back injury. When the bell rings, however, he has a short memory, not allowing the fear of aggravating it get in the way. In the five years since, he hasn’t experienced any further problems.

To say Christian has returned with a bang is an understatement. He has made life difficult for ECW Champion Jack Swagger in his new home, the Land of the Extreme, and Captain Charisma ousted 15 other hungry Superstars for the opportunity to be at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

“I’ve been away from WWE for a few years now, and I’m refocused, rededicated and back to make a huge impact. I came back for one reason,â€￾ he said. “To become a champion.â€￾

The three-time Intercontinental Champion, nine-time World Tag Team Champion, one-time European Champion, former Hardcore Champion and ex-Light Heavyweight Champion knows a thing or two about winning titles. Still, despite his impressive résumé, he admits this match means more than any other he’s been in, especially when everyone who has obtained the coveted briefcase has gone on to cash it in for a championship.

“Of all the Ladder Matches and Money in the Bank Matches this one has the biggest prize for me,â€￾ he explained. “That’s the one title that’s eluded me my entire career: A World Title.â€￾

I guess TNA doesnt have a World Title

Yeah, I laughed. I'd much rather say I won the NWA title any day over the WWE Title anyways. Good article though, for something on WWE.com

^Are you serious? Of course the NWA is a very prestigious belt, but it's not like he won it int he NWA's best days. At the point that he won it, it was basicallyt eh TNA World Title, which is of course lesser of the two titles.
Another thing is, think what you want about WWE, but the fact that WWE is so reluctant to push new people, and all the politics that go on in WWE, actually makes it more of an accomplishment than winning any other title.
At any point since the late 80's, I'd much rather win the WWE belt.

I don't care if TNA had control of the belt, the fact remains it's still the NWA world title. It could be in the possession of some backyard promotion, and it'd still be more prestigious that the WWE Title.

Lou Thesz, Dory Funk, Harley Race, Jack Brisco, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Kerry Von Erich, Ricky Steamboat, Sting, Muta, Barry Windham, Candido, etc

Yes, I get your point, but what I'm saying is, to compare holding that to holding the NWA title (in it's proper forM isn't even really a comparision.
In this day and age, holding the WWE title in 10x more valuable than holding the CURRENT NWA world title.
That's all that really matters to me.
Ya, you can say the belt Christian held is more valuable on an all time scale than the WWE belt, and that could be true, and IMO is...
But to try to say what he held was more valuabel than holding the WWE title is stupid. That incarnation of the NWA belt almost is a disgrace to the NWA days of the past, and holding that wasn't equivilent to holding the legendary NWA title that Flair, Thesz, etc, held in my opinion.

This article was on WWE.com which is typically written in Kayfabe. I do not think that they wanted to recognize him as the "world champion" in a rival company. The "interview" was written with Christian's responses in character. It was Captain Charisma and not William Reso.
