CM Punk is channelling his inner nastiness once again, and even though the frantically busy Chris hasn’t had much time to watch RAW, he’s got a theory on Punk’s new-found heel turn, and new stable manager Paul Heyman, his old boss from ECW.

Jericho: “Listen, Punk is a great performer and a really great heel. I think he’s doing better as heel as he genuinely has more of that personality. When he was a babyface it was more of an in-thing after he did the speech, but I’m convinced he’s more comfortable being a heel.

“With John Cena there you’re never going to be No 1, so maybe he got sick of being No 2 and decided the way to get to No 1 was being a heel. I think that’s what’s going on.

I'm not convinced Punk is even a natural heel tbh, he's a douche it seems but he gets followers from it. If anything he's a natural "I honestly don't give a shit and you love me for it guy" More comfortable? Probably but he's got such a natural likability for too many people to hate him for me. Also due to his seemingly competitive nature rather than settling for number 1 heel I see him pushing on to be number 1 in the company full stop rather than stopping a certain path as he'd never achieve it.

To be honest, I think Punk mixed a little of his real life personality in his gimmick..:urm:

Seems likely, especially the respect stuff. It's too consistent for the chimps known as WWE creative.

Indeed

Think Punk does 75% of his own stuff.

Yeah, Jericho's right, I think. Being a heel or a tweener fits Punk better than being a face.

Punk as a face was cool for a few weeks but it got old. His character is built for a "I'm right and YOU ARE ALL WRONG" typa guy.

The theory's not really saying much :pity:

Think they should've kept Punk tweener instead of turning him face after he had that useless rivalry with HHH. They also should've made him the one to go after Laurinatis instead of Cena. I figured punk be the more "anti-establishment" kind of guy and the storyline would fit him better.

I don't remember the rivalry with Punk and Hunter. Thanks for reminding me. :eek:tunga:

I mean, if you can even call that lame POS a rivalry. It completely killed Punk's momentum.
