Yeah, it was a great debut for sure. Jericho was benefited for jumping to WWF, for sure, they actually used him there.

Probably the best debut in any wrestling company, ever. And if they had booked him in an actual feud with the Rock right away, it would have turned him into a main eventer instantly. Instead, they just dropped it and had him feud (and lose) to Chyna. I was glad to see that Jericho complained about that himself on his DVD.
