Smashing Pumpkins front-man Billy Corgan recently spoke with The New York Times about his Resistance Pro Wrestling promotion.
Corgan says he's in the wrestling business for the long-haul and talked about why:
"I like that it makes people uncomfortable. I like that it's not an easy thing to explain. I like when it's great, it's amazing; when it's bad, it's really, really bad."
Corgan revealed that he has pitched a reality show about his promotion to a handful of TV networks. He also spoke with WWE's Stephanie McMahon about Revolution Pro becoming a developmental territory for WWE. No word yet if WWE has any interest but Corgan commented:
"I think it would be to our credit to get people to the top level. I think it does a disservice to our talent to not prepare them for the next level."
Resistance is a pretty good promotion and if WWE agreed to this they could get their talent out of the Florida party scene, aka no more promising talent beating up cops whilst drunk.
