Cheick Kongo has broken his silence over his current status with the UFC. Below is an excerpt of Kongo's message from his Facebook page.

"I am in the best position to know what happened to my career in the UFC. AND do not worry. For the moment, be aware that in no case the UFC not dismissed me and I am on very good terms with the American organization."

Kongo's profile was removed from the UFC website upon completing his contract. There was speculation that he was released, coming off a first round knockout to Roy Nelson at UFC 159.

He fought 18 times for the UFC, the second most of any heavyweight in the promotion's history. He's also landed more strikes and spent more time in the Octagon than any other heavyweight.

There is no word on what is next for Kongo who was 11-6-1 for the UFC.

Cheick Kongo has always left a bad taste in my mouth after the Pat Barry knockout where he said he was in no danger when clearly he was on the verged of being KTFO so this sounds like a cover up to me. However, if it is true there is a lot of open options for Cheick Kongo.. maybe he'll join Rampage and King Mo as part of the MMA Elite team and go to Bellator.

To be honest with you, I really don't give a shit.
