A welterweight bout between Che Mills (14-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Duane "Bang" Ludwig (21-13 MMA, 4-4 UFC) has been added to this fall's UFC on FUEL TV 5 event
Mills, who will fight in his home country for the second time under the UFC banner, today announced the fight via Twitter.
UFC on FUEL TV 5 takes place Sept. 29 at Capital FM Arena. The main card airs live on FUEL TV (during Saturday afternoon in the U.S.) following prelims on Facebook. It's the UFC's first event in the English city.
It's not clear where Mills vs. Ludwig will end up on the lineup.
Mills fights for the first time since his unsuccessful UFC 145 co-headliner against Rory MacDonald. Mills suffered a second-round TKO loss to the fast-rising welterweight. The loss snapped Mills' five-fight win streak, which included a UFC-debut "Knockout of the Night" victory over Chris Cope at UFC 138.
Ludwig, meanwhile, is likely fighting for his UFC career following back-to-back stoppage losses to Josh Neer and Dan Hardy. The former kickboxer and veteran MMA fighter is now 2-4 in his most recent UFC stint. The wins came via decision over Nick Osipczak and Amir Sadollah.
The latest UFC on FUEL TV 5 card now includes:
Stipe Miocic vs. Stefan Struve
Yves Jabouin vs. Brad Pickett
Duane "Bang" Ludwig vs. Che Mills
Akira Corassani vs. Andy Ogle
Paul Sass vs. Matt Wiman
Good chance for Che to get back on track in this fight, as he was wrecked when he fought Rory at UFC 145. Really good stand up fight.
Dan Hardy fight is also in the works, likely to co-main event this show.
