Even though Chavo Guerrero Jr. was written off in storyline, Dave Meltzer reported in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Guerrero is expected to return to AEW in the future.

Two weeks ago on Rampage, Andrade El Idolo picked up a win over PAC thanks to help from Guerrero while the referee's back was turned. However, El Idolo didn't want the help and laid out Guerrero after the match. Guerrero was then given a double superkick from Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix before PAC finished him off with the brutalizer.

Meltzer said the reason for the angle was Guerrero is the wrestling coordinator for the NBC show Young Rock, based on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's life. They are filming the second season now so Guerrero needed to be written off which was the plan from the onset. Meltzer said Guerrero is expected to return when filming is done.

The 50-year-old made his AEW debut in July as the executive consultant for El Idolo, taking over for Vickie Guerrero.

Maybe he begs Andrade for forgiveness and comes back now Flair is surely out?
not a bad call. i figured he was coming back though because iirc they made him an is all elite twitter and graphic, so it be weird if it was just for a single program and then gone

For the record, this shouldn't be viewed as a response to the Flair stuff even though the timing kind of lines up.

Meltzer wrote about this before that dark side aired and you can tell him and most everyone else weren't expecting it to do this much damage to Flair bc they were still predicting Flair to come to AEW up until the day after

Yeah this article was written after but it's based off Meltzer's report in the Observer last week and probably just coincidental. Chavo was probs planned to be brought back regardless, but I do think they were planning on pairing Andrade with Flair soon and now won't so Chavo's plans could change bc of that

Cornette said this week that he felt there were too many managers in AEW and I agree. I don't see Chavo bringing anything innovative to a managerial position.

Vickie = Absolute gold
Tully = Wish they'd do more with him, looks like they might be, as we speak
Jake = Really can't speak as well as he used to and kind of sounds like shit. Keep him backstage please.
Don Callis = Absolute gold.
Smart Mark Sterling = ?? Doesn't do much. Throw a better "hype man" with Jade Cargill. Tully or Callis would do well to represent Jade Cargill.
Alex Abrahantes = Thought it was awkward and kind of weird when he first just suddenly came onscreen as Lucha Bros. translator, but now I love seeing him wearing red gloves and dancing his ass off to the ring. He owns the role and is definitely "into it" and having fun.

Nice, I always liked Chavo. He had a pretty good run in Lucha Underground.
