Even though Chavo Guerrero Jr. was written off in storyline, Dave Meltzer reported in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Guerrero is expected to return to AEW in the future.
Two weeks ago on Rampage, Andrade El Idolo picked up a win over PAC thanks to help from Guerrero while the referee's back was turned. However, El Idolo didn't want the help and laid out Guerrero after the match. Guerrero was then given a double superkick from Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix before PAC finished him off with the brutalizer.
Meltzer said the reason for the angle was Guerrero is the wrestling coordinator for the NBC show Young Rock, based on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's life. They are filming the second season now so Guerrero needed to be written off which was the plan from the onset. Meltzer said Guerrero is expected to return when filming is done.
The 50-year-old made his AEW debut in July as the executive consultant for El Idolo, taking over for Vickie Guerrero.
