On March 29 it was announced that Charly Caruso (Charly Arnolt) was joining ESPN on a full-time basis.

Caruso joined WWE in 2016 and served as a panel host, backstage interviewer, co-host of Raw Talk, social media personality, and more. She now appears regularly on ESPN's Sportsnation and is part of the First Take, Her Take podcast.

Speaking during an East Coast Auctions virtual appearance, Caruso explained the differences between working in WWE and ESPN.

"The biggest difference for me from going to WWE to ESPN is, where in WWE, I was surrounded by wrestlers. Here, I'm surrounded by broadcasters, that's all it is. This really is the place to take the next step in my career. It's a place where I can really climb the ladder where WWE, I had a limited capability of what I was I able to do as a broadcaster because there are only so many roles," she said.

When one viewer commented that they missed Charly on WWE TV, she replied, "You never know what the future can hold, maybe I'll pop up on your favorite wrestling shows one of these days."

Later during the signing, Charly was asked if she watched AEW All Out. While Charly said that she hadn't watched the show, she did hint at possibly showing up on AEW TV at some point.

"I am a huge fan of Tony Khan. I'm a huge fan of Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi. I have to imagine that whatever they are putting together over there is gold. I will make it a point to tune in and, who knows, maybe one day I'll make a cameo or more than a cameo. I've known Tony for years and years. I was friends with Tony even before I took my job with WWE. Long-standing relationship right there," she said.

Tony Khan invited Charly to a WWE SmackDown show in Indianapolis in 2016, which led to her joining the company.

Fightful Select reported on March 17 that Caruso had "gained heat backstage after consistently being late to conduct interviews meant for Raw," noting specific instances with Randy Orton and Sheamus. In an interview with TVInsider following her WWE departure, Caruso said nothing bad happened with WWE.
